So does anyone think i will be disapointed from going from diesel to gas??
You won't be disappointed as much as you will be having to adjust. The off pedal torque won't be there that diesels have. This will really show up when the truck is heavily loaded. For example, if you're towing a heavy load, it won't move the load off the line without revving much higher on the tach. You'll have to put your foot into the pedal more.
My 4800 has a lot of off-pedal torque. When pulling my backhoe on the trailer (about 23,500lbs) you can just let the clutch out without revving a lot and the load starts moving. When i did this with a 429 gas powered Ford dump, it had to be revved to get the load moving.
When towing, it will guzzle more gas, so you'll spend more time at the filling station.
You will probably mistakenly grind the starter a few times thinking the engine isn't running.

Gas engines seem so quiet compared to a Powerstroke.
To be honest with you, it looks like a pretty truck, but for that kind of money, you could get a truck like mine and have a serious dumptruck that can do a lot more work.
I'm selling my 4800 to go to an even bigger truck hopefully this spring!!!
I've had a bunch of small dumptrucks and after a year or 2, no matter what brand, you find that they're really limited in what they can do.
This was my old '99.5 F-450. I know it doesn't have the payload of a F-550, but even if it was a 550, it wouldn't have satisfied me. These trucks have a way of leaving you wanting more than they can handle.
