Anybody know anything about this Bosch injection pump (pic)

The one page I have of the manual says there's supposed to be oil in the red cap until it reaches the threads off the plug on the left side of the pump(not shown in pic). Only problem is there's diesel fuel in there and not oil. I don't see a drain...if I try to add oil it goes out the overflow tube.

I thought somebody else must have this same pump being it's a Bosch.
The tractor is a Agri-power with a 3 cyl Fiat engine.

If you have diesel in your oil the pump needs to be looked at it is either leaking by the plunger barrels or by the lift pump. If you remove the two bolts under the fill cap the whole cover can be removed then if you use the hand primer you might see the fuel leak past one of the barrels. Sometimes the drain plug is in the back.

Like H.D said it sounds like a internal leak letting fuel into the oil side of the pump. Before any surgery I would suggest giving it a good bath first. Don't need any dirt getting in there.

Any of the Bosch pumps I've worked on didn't have a drain plug but if you remove the lift pump from the housing you'll get most of the old oil out.

Some Bosch pumps also have a separate sump for the governor, be sure to check for that while you're inspecting.

What style of Bosch pump would this be?
I see there is a VE style and a A&K style. I was looking at manuals and just wanted to be sure this pump would be covered.

I took the cover off and didn't see any leakage when I primed it. Should the primer get hard enough where I wouldn't be able to pump it anymore?, because it doesn't? I also don't see a drain plug anywhere? Any ideas on how I would go about to drain it then?

The lift pump is the part held on by three nuts at the bottom of the pump your hand primer is attached to the top right hand side of it. If you hear fuel bypassing the residual pressure check valve in the return banjo your hand primer should be good.

Well I took the lift pump out and drained the oil and there wasn't as much fuel as I thought there was in there...so I'm going just keep an eye on it.

Do these pumps only hold a couple ounces of oil? I hardly added any to it and it started to come out the overflow tube and the sight hole.

Do any of you diesel guru's have a clue why it smokes so bad? (blue smoke)
Smokes really bad and doesn't get any better as it warms up.

It only has 800 hours on it and starts right up...good compression then right?
Doesn't smoke out of the crankcase breather.

Could it be like injectors, pump timing?
