ME's are pretty short don't know how long he would need, but even if he got that 12-14 foot dumper and it weighed all of 4000+ lbs. even though the 8500# machine would put the gross weight over 12,000, he's gonna have at least 1K on the tongue so he'd be good to go with even a little wiggle room.
I thought Builder has dump trucks already? but for someone who doesn't, a dump/equipment trailer would be the way to go. A dedicated equipment trailer is a one use deal, I know people use them for other things but the dumper really comes in handy for many material handling tasks.
Brimar does make a very nice trailer, that was the first one I looked at.
I've got a 6x10 5 ton easydumper, very well made only has one large cylinder though, I have overcome the cylinder's ability to dump a couple of times and had to shovel material from the front to the rear but otherwise has been great. I have the barn doors and ramps, D-rings, but it's a little short, I have moved my CUT with it with the bucket perched up on the front bulkhead. I planned on getting a 6x12 brimar 5 ton, that trailer and probably other 12 footers have 2 cylinders, I don't think you could overwhelm 2 cylinders even though they are smaller.
Was mad at myself for not getting the 12 footer cause I thought I would be able to move my machine easier but it really wouldn't make a big difference and to move machine with back hoe or rake or mower I really needed an equipment trailer.
If that mini excavator would fit in a 12 footer that would be nice. The guy I bought my equip trailer from has a 6 ton dump but I think it's only 10 feet long, it looked very well made the body looked like a dump truck body with the pockets for side planks and a built in tarp cover roller. he only wants $3,000. it looks like new, prob 6 grand new.
Looking at the photo now, the front A-frame looks small for a 6 ton?
