Looking for a trailer for a 8,500lb mini-ex (Kubota U-35).

I'm thinking I can do this with a standard 12K equipment hauler trailer. That leaves me an empty weight of 3,500lbs.

Would love to have a dumptrailer, but I don't see a dumptrailer weighing 3,500lbs empty. (8,500 + 3,500 = 12,000)

I really like the PJ trailers.

Anyone have any real-world experience/suggestions?

Take a look at Gator Made Trailers. They are some of the best made trailers on the market and something you could spend a day and drive down to the factory in southern Kentucky and pick up if you wished to do so. They build the in KY but have a factory outlet in Cincinnati if that is any closer for you. Anyway check the site out.

As for a dump the last one I sold was a 14' bumper pull Bi-Mar 14k unit. It weighed 4,200# empty to give you a idea.

ME's are pretty short don't know how long he would need, but even if he got that 12-14 foot dumper and it weighed all of 4000+ lbs. even though the 8500# machine would put the gross weight over 12,000, he's gonna have at least 1K on the tongue so he'd be good to go with even a little wiggle room.

I thought Builder has dump trucks already? but for someone who doesn't, a dump/equipment trailer would be the way to go. A dedicated equipment trailer is a one use deal, I know people use them for other things but the dumper really comes in handy for many material handling tasks.

Brimar does make a very nice trailer, that was the first one I looked at.

I've got a 6x10 5 ton easydumper, very well made only has one large cylinder though, I have overcome the cylinder's ability to dump a couple of times and had to shovel material from the front to the rear but otherwise has been great. I have the barn doors and ramps, D-rings, but it's a little short, I have moved my CUT with it with the bucket perched up on the front bulkhead. I planned on getting a 6x12 brimar 5 ton, that trailer and probably other 12 footers have 2 cylinders, I don't think you could overwhelm 2 cylinders even though they are smaller.

Was mad at myself for not getting the 12 footer cause I thought I would be able to move my machine easier but it really wouldn't make a big difference and to move machine with back hoe or rake or mower I really needed an equipment trailer.
If that mini excavator would fit in a 12 footer that would be nice. The guy I bought my equip trailer from has a 6 ton dump but I think it's only 10 feet long, it looked very well made the body looked like a dump truck body with the pockets for side planks and a built in tarp cover roller. he only wants $3,000. it looks like new, prob 6 grand new.
Looking at the photo now, the front A-frame looks small for a 6 ton?

The Gator Made factory is only about 25 miles away from where I live. I really need to swing by there one of these days and mosey around a bit. Depending on where Builder lives in PA, it would take a good part of a day to make the trip, lol!

I like my used Bri-Mar trailer but if I was buying new, PJ more than likely would be my pick for a dump.

It might be a good idea to negotiate with the trailer dealer to do an actual weigh on any trailer that you buy. The numbers on the serial plate don't always "weigh" up.

Yep, I do have a large dumptruck already, but I figured if I'm buying a trailer, might as well get one that does more than one thing. From what I'm finding, if I got a 12K-14 footer, I might be able to get one that's ~3,500lbs. I may have to settle for an equipment trailer, but so many guys are going bankrupt, there's dumptrailers, snowplows, trucks & tractors for sale evrywhere for 40% less than last year.

Great time for great deals.

Looks like I may be able to get a Cam Superline 13,800 lb trailer-weighs ~4,000 empty.
