Have any of you beat this one? I've tried off and on all day with no luck. I don't want to know how to beat it, just is it beatable. If it is, I'll keep trying

I always went under the assumption that any freecell game was winnable.

Now....

My thoughts are changing...

Yes it can be beaten. The solution is relatively short.
After 4 tries I looked it up and then tested it.

Which version are you using, XP or Vista? The only thing to recommend Vista is that Freecell has unlimited undo.

That's why I have a 99% win record :D:D for 3400 games

Yep, it is very winnable. You just need to change your strategy a bit.

There are two Freecell games you absolutely cannot beat:
# -1
and
# -2

So whenever someone says they can win every Freecell game....

That being said, there is a Freecell cheat that allows you to put any card anywhere and win....

I remmeber that one!!!! I swear I remember winning that game. And gosh it seemed like it took me weeks adn weeks (well off and on). I went on the internet and searched and did not read the solution only that it could be won. And by gosh I was so proud when I figured it out on my own. But man o man was tha a hard one. I can't even count how many times I had to restart it and try again another tactic. But on my own I figured it out :)

OK, I finally won it! Not on my own though. I looked it up, cause I have to get some sleep tonight ;)

That's the first one I haven't been able to solve, not sure I would have ever done it without the help of the internet.

FreeCell is the ONLY game that I play on my Windows XP and my statistics show 2113 wins and 1 loss. My loss was # 11982 which no one has ever found a solution to. (not counting #-1 and # -2 which are set-up games and can't be won)

#1941 was definitely one of the harder games. There are a few other real hard games but they are all numbered over 100,000.

I found a way to "win" any freecall game if you want your stats to be clean.
"If you press Ctrl+Alt+F10 for any FreeCell game, you get the User-Friend User Interface dialog box. Click the Abort button to win the game; return to FreeCell and move any single card and — ta da! — you've won!"
Unsolvable games are listed in Wikipedia. There are solutions listed for games one and two on the web but I have not tried them.

I just tried this on the Vista version and got zip, nada!

Neither did Ctrl-Shift-F10.

I don't believe that this would be called "winning".

Games #1 and #2 are easy to win. It's games #-1 and #-2 that are impossible.

How about that frog jumping game I got in an e-mail last night. There's 6 frogs and you're supposed to swap their positions in the pond. I can't do it. It says it's a computer test for 2nd graders in China. Frog Leap Test

Took me about 20-30 tries. Yikes! That was a tough one. :)

Got it first try. :D

In all fairness, as kid I was sick a lot and had about a bazillion board games with plenty of time to figure them out. One was a very similar jumping peg and hole game. ;)

Me too got it on the first try in pehaps 20 to 30 seconds. I guess some people just have the knack for this kind of usless talent :) To bad you can't earn money jumping frogs around, ha-ha

LOL That's a good one. You must work where I work Moss. :D

In all reality, I am very fortunate in that my supervisor is not a frog jumper. I've met a few over the years, though. ;)
