I am looking to buy a landscape rake and am wondering others opinions about the various choices and what size I should get to fit my Massey 1528 (28 hp). I am thinking either a 6' or possibly a 7' (if that will not be too big for the tractor). Should I go with a King Kutter, Leinbach, TSC Brand (which I haven't read too much good on with other implements) or something else. I'm not looking to spend a fortune, but want something that will hold up. I'm looking at using it for my driveway (1,400 feet) and am having about 7 acres stumped and leveled this spring to make more pasture for the horses and using it to clean that up. Thanks for you opinions.

I bought a King Kutter 6 footer last fall, this one Blain's Farm and Fleet : King Kutter Landscape Rake. I got it on sale for $289 and am very satisfied with it. I am using it behind a JD 4100 (20 hp) and it does great.

Here is some info on a Fred Cain rake I bought a while back. I absolutely love it. This thing is built stout. I hung the right end of the frame on a stump while turning too sharp, and it stopped me in my tracks without any damage to the rake. Other than my grapple this is my most used attachment.

I have a 7ft KK and it does ok for the price. There are 2 things I dont like about it. The pivot moves up and down about an inch and the angle iron the tines are mounted to flexes alot if you are moving heavy material. have you concidered used. You might get a top of the line used rake for the price of a new KK.

I have a KK 6ft I pull with my 20hp Kioti. Handles it just fine. I do some gravel drive maintenance, but mostly landscape/yard leveling. I do a lot of ball diamond maintenance too. Only thing I did was fabricate my own dolly wheels that are crank adjustable and I can swap back and forth to my 5' KK box blade. makes finish grading ,leveling easy and fool proof.
There are several threads on dolly wheels for rakes etc.
If you can't fab yourself buy them from the dealer, drawback is they are not easy to adjust up and down and they usually extend back only about 18". I built mine so the extension can be adjusted by pulling a pin and sliding from 2' to 4' behind the rake. Makes it even easier to get a uniform level grade. Just like a big road grader.

I've been very impressed with the quality of Woods rakes. One thing that seems rather trivial, but awfully nice once you start to use it is the quality of the tines. Look at some of the cheaper rakes and after much use, the tines are frequently bent more or less depending on what they have hit. Woods appears to use some fine Italian steel (each tine is stamped as such) and they appear to be much stronger (maybe more brittle - I don't know) and the quality of the forging is obvious. One look and you'll see this.
I appreciate the info. The Fred Cain is a tough looking piece of machinery. I couldn't find a wed site and I called the company direct. They quoted me $707.00 (plus shipping). I'll give Chandler a call as well. We don't seem to have as many options up here in Maine.
