Oil & Fuel Running on #2 home heating oil?

1* I don't think this is about throwing anything like that away over fuel cost.
2* what creative alternative nonsense?
3*The subject is not fuel afforadability. Also I don't believe the fuel is the wrong fuel least wise around here.
4*the subject is not unrealistic
5*I didn't know this was about alternative fuels.

1*No matter, this is still a poor subject matter for what a appears be a web community driven by professional tractor owners who have invested thousand in their equipment to throw it away over fuel cost.
2*or should I be stating "creative alternative nonsense".
3*If you can't afford to buy the right fuel then I think we need to rethink why one has expense equipment in the first place.
4*As a new member this subject is really disappointing and takes a huge whack out creditability of those who are providing the information to keep this going as a real discussion. I say "get real"
5*I'm not going spending 20k or more to throw in a bit of cheap alterive fuel to save a buck sorry. You go man. Whoooo this one got me going!

It's not about saving pennies, I'm looking for a use for a fuel I have plenty of. I bought my Reddy heater because I could burn HHO in it, it just doesn't burn it fast enough. ;) If anything the drive to buy fuel would be my only complaint. Fuel cost is not an issue. LBrown's fuel station looks interesting to me. I have a nearly unlimited supply of 30 gallon plastic barrels. Not as good as a 55 gallon barrel but how can I argue with free.

If I don't find a good use for it I may donate sum to the local VFD for training purposes. It could make a good Hazmat spill scenario or possibly some kind of vehicle fire etc. Three years ago they burned down a house and used it for training. Other then that there was a non-training barn fire, but very little else.

I really think it's time to drop this subject. Who would put old fuel in a nice Kioti tactor to save pennies. End of story.
Diesel is about 2 bucks a gallon .
The OP has 150 gallon = that's 300 bucks.
To throw it out and buy 150 gallon more is another 300 bucks .
Were talkin 600 bucks here.
600 buck is not pennies on the gallon here.

Well I have used HHO in the summer on the farm I added PS and algaecide to both of my 330 Gal tanks, the tank by the barn that I used for the dozer and all of the larger equipment, it was easier to get to, the one by my shop was also for my heating system and smaller equipment that I could easily refuel. The equipment that was to be used in the winter snow removal I would buy at the truck stop.
I had no problems with with my equipment just changed filters more often, the dealer in my area only had K1 and HHO and I was not about to haul 300-500 Gals of diesel in 5gal containers during hay season.
The first tractor I ever drove was an F20 Farmall on the farm when I was a kid and have owned more tractors than I can remember and have always repaired and maintained all of my equipment from complete engine, transmission, hyd rebuilds NEVER took any of my equipment to a dealer for service.
Your rants here remind me of a management class I attended once the instructor handed out a test he instructed the class to completely read the instructions before taking test ,everyone in the class about 25 people were busy filling out the test except myself and another person ,then the instructor asked if everyone was done ,at that point he informed the class that only two people had passed and asked everyone in the class to reread the instructions it plainly said DO NOT TAKE THIS TEST

1*You Mean This Set Up

2*Since you have a free nearly unlimited supply of 30 gallon plastic drums you could use 3 or 4 of them to set up a very nice system also.
I wish I had a free nearly unlimited supply of 30 gallon plastic drums.
I could use about 60 of them cut in half end to end to line about 300 feet of ditches.
3*I'd say it's 90 to 95 percent as good.

1*Is it safe to run straight #2 in my CK25?

I have 150 gallons of the stuff at the moment. Its well aged shall we say :D Does anyone know what I should be looking for as a sign of break down of the oil? Its been stored behind my shed for about 2 years, it was in an under ground tank for a year or more before that. It burns just fine in my Reddy heater. Since I get ULSD from my nearest station I was thinking of mixing #2 and ULSD or simply running straight #2.

2*Does anyone think there will be a problem with running #2.
1*Yes
2*Any issue would be due to the age rather than type of fuel.

1*If i did that here I'd just be adding red dye to what I already have at home and paying 40 or 50 cents more per gallon for it. That just don't make no sense to me.
2*I don't think he understands the test thus the rant.

I bought it at the truck stop so it would be a winter blend in my tractor and backhoe in the winter, I had no problems with it not starting ever.

In the summer I would use HHO with the algaecide and PS

Yes you are right Rick HHO and Diesel ARE NOT THE SAME!
yes you can burn HHO in a diesel BUT it does not have algicides in it or stabilizers
I used HHO on the farm and added 2 oz of algicides to 330 gal.and I used the fuel up very quickly.
But to have and hold HHO 60 gal for 6 mos is asking for trouble.
When the algae starts growing in your fuel system and pump plungers end up with rust on them they will learn a valuable lesson
Last June I bought 60 gallons of fuel.
Around these parts they call it HHO or Diesel.
Took me 6 months to use it all up.
Did not have have any problems with it at all and still have some ot it in each of my 3 tractors.

All 3 tractors are running fine on it 9 months later.
Is that becaus it was really off road diesel instead of HHO or is it because Diesel and HHO are actually the same thing?

As a side note this is summer not winter stuff and it still worked great in the cold days of winter.

*It's my understanding that both on road and off road is blended for winter use.
Sounds logical to me otherwise all the construction, excavation, landscapers , loggers and other such contractors and companies would be having one heck of a problem with gelling in the winter time.
