Hello,

I'm thinking of foaming the rear tires on my JD 3720. They are 43X16-20. The price I have so far is $1300/tire. That seems very expensive to me. That being said I've not had tires foamed before. Does anyone know of a place, preferably near Edmonton Alberta, that would be more reasonably priced.

Thanks,
Al

Not sure if you have Les Schwab stores up there. It was $2 a pound for my front tires at 168 lbs each ran me some big bucks. I won't have to worry about flats on the front. I would have had to taken out a second mortgage to do the rears on my Kubota

No Les Schwb dealers up here. I really would like to foam the tires but $2600 for 2 tires is a little more than I can justify right now.

Yes that is a lot of money. I work out in the woods with my tractor around sharp stumps so I didn't want to get flats out there. If I had some old tires to experiment with I would try some of that expanding foam you squirt in the walls around light switches to seal them. When I sent my tires to Les Schwab it took about a week. The poked a hole in the sidewall to squirt the foam in. Then I believe they kept rotating the tire to get the foam to fill in around the tire consistently otherwise it would be heavy on one side.
There are other wiser guys on here that might be able to tell you more about the process or try to talk you into fluid of some flavor to fill the tires...

The insulating foam stiffens up as it cures, and would turn to dust in a tire, I bet.

That's a shame cause I could use some foam in the small 8 inch tires that I have on my hose reel cart. They are always going flat.

I have a wheelbarrow and a pressure washer cart that are constantly going flat. I wonder if spray insulating foam would be tough enough for that? I'd try it, but it would be a **** of a mess if it didnt work:eek:

Harbor freight has the no flat wheelbarrow tires for pretty cheap. I had the same problem with my wheelbarrow so bought one of those tires for it.
The spray in foam is sold by 1lb cans even if it turned to dust inside the tire you still have the weight don't you?
That fluid tire sealer would add some weight I would think depending on how much you filled the wheels with.
