BX1860 or BX2360?

I'm learning more on this every day. Going to second dealer today. Can't get the 54" fine cut MMM on the 1860. 1st dealer told me not enuf HP to push it, second dealer said it won't fit. Only the finish cut. With the size of my lot, the 48" fine cut MMM will do. I want a fine cut mulcher, so it's the 48". I should have seen that on the brochure, cause it's on there. Getting turfs, but could also walk out of parts department with the bars also. I will ask the larger tire size Q again at this dealer. I believe the gear ratio difference and top speed between the 23 and 18 is only reflected by tire diameter. More research today. Off to the dealer with wife. Ummmmm.............Bill

I don't buy the 54" fine cut not working with the 1860. If you go to the Kubota web site and use the "build my Kubota" feature for the 1860 both the 54" regular cut and fine cut are offered. I don't see why it wouldn't fit since, as I understand, the difference is the height of the deck. The fine cut is suppose to be deeper allowing more air flow for the grass to stand up. The outer dimensions should be the same. And as far as not enough HP, I can't see how the fine cut 54" would require more HP than the regular cut. My guess is that not many dealers stock the fine cut and just don't want to have to order one (maybe due to the recent price increase).

Just be aware that with the 48" deck, it will barely be wider than your wheel track making trimming around trees, etc., more difficult.

also be advised that the wheels on the 48" deck do not pivot out, making it difficult to remove / slide deck away from tractor . . . should i sing "hello dolly?"
my dealer sold me a 54" deep/fine cut with my bx1850, though i had one dealer tell me that it wouldn't work

Deal or no deal?.......Deal! Bought the BX1860, turfs, FEL, 48" fine cut MMM with mulch kit. Ballast box, grill guard, and cruise control. Last old price unit before price increase! Can't wait! Thanks for the advice. I will upload pics when I get it. Bill

the little kubota gnome that runs my bx (or just runs around in . . . in my head),
wanted me to remind you that he's heard from other kubota gnomes that MA might get some snow sometime during the the year and that the heavy duty 2763a front blade w/ squeege edge (also a dirt dozer blade is an awesome add on, that makes clearing snow easy
i had my 54" fine cut on a dolly and the hd blade on another when my dealer delivered them. it was kinda like moving fighter armaments on a carrier deck (around my garage), tractor, fel, mmm and front blade are impressive pieces
have a ball. shrekbelly and the chester county kubota gnome(s).

Very nice machine. I am sure you will enjoy it for hours . I see you got the ballast box. what do you plan on putting in it ? IF it not too much to ask, I'd like more pictures of it discoonected and inside.
