New trailer

I see where they have one with the 7 pin round, but not the 7 pin blade RV style. I also don't like the fact that the lights are at the back of the truck. With some wire, I can run all of my tests without walking to the back of the truck for each test. Besides, it is probably more expensive than what I'll have wrapped up in mine.

Thanks for the tip though.

I'm building both. Using LEDs for the truck side so I can use one of the small Radio Shack Project boxes as well.

I used light bulbs because I was not sure if the LED's would work without a resistor? Pretty good with electrical stuff but not the best so I went the safe route. I did put a 10 amp fuse on the truck side tester. Put the fuse in line with the negative lead going to all 6 test lights.

Look what I just found. This would be ideal. Too bad it isn't in stock:

RV Electrical Tester, Simulates Towing Light Setups

Might have to look around to see if I can find one somewhere before I start building my own.

WOW!!! I just found that sucker at another site for almost $500. So for $23.08, it would be mine.

Yes I built one for the trailer and one for the truck for under $40 total. They do what I want and work the way I want them too and it was a fun project.
