I have an opportunity to purchase a BX1850 through an auction. The problem is that it has a backhoe on it. This seems like a pretty small tractor to operate a backhoe.
My question is will the backhoe have done any damage to it. and What is the back hoe part of the package worth?
thanks

Is it a 3 point hitch type or does it have a sub-frame like the Kubota OEM or the Woods BH? In reality, the BX24, which comes standard with a BH, is only a little bigger than the 1850 and they have the same hydraulic spec's - GPM, PSI - so I wouldn't worry about it unless it's a 3PH type of BH. From what I read, those can cause some issues for the 3PH components and possibly the tractor frame itself. No idea what it's worth however, but a new Woods BH for a BX (the only after market BH with a full frame that I've heard of) goes for between $5,000 and $6,000 new.

Welcome to TBN...Is there a model number on the BH? Have a pic or 2 of it hooked up to the Bota?

Have a look through this thread. Blackmajicwoman put a Woods BH6000 backhoe on a BX1500. This thread has pics of this little combo digging up stumps and boulders, and digging trenches . 1*Your BX is bigger and more powerful than the BX1500. If the backhoe is a Woods BH6000, your rig will do just fine.
1*The BX1830 is bigger than the BX1500.
The BX1500 and BX1850 are the same size.

Well I'll be darned! I was not aware they had downsized the 1800 series, but I checked the specs and you are absolutely right. Thanks for correcting me Lee.
The Way Kubot made the change over made it appear that the BX1500 was eliminated when actually the BX1800 series was axed and the BX1500 was relabled as A BX1800 series.

Yep, I gathered that. That would make sense if they were trying to forge a leaner lineup, but that does not seem to be where they are heading. All BX models now have 3 cylinder engines, but I just don't see the reasoning in having so much duplication between 1850/1860 and 24/25, etc. The auto industry is being forced to slim down its lineup; it seems a similar move by Kubota would help (or even be necessary) in the current financial market.
