WH401, how do you know what damage may occur if our seemingly good fix fails and the bolt/pin falls out again and thus allows the mower deck to contact the ground and get ripped off the tractor or bent up or rips the linkage off the tractor or just bends the linkage really good or maybe the bolt/pin gets caught by the blades and gets rocketed into or through something or God forbid someone?
So by that you mean the same exact thing that could've happened to the machine during the previous 4-5 times that the OEM pin has fallen out?
I am very glad to hear that your intent was not to ridicule him for his unhappiness and its resulting contemplation of selling the tractor or purchasing an extended warranty.
No your correct, my intent wasn't to ridicule him for his unhappiness. My intent is in him offering various simple solutions to fix a problem that is being overexaggerated and to understand why there would even be a need to comtemplate getting rid of a machine over a 50 cent part.
I will tell you that if I had his tractor and it had the problem it has which as you say is a one-of-a-kind defect then my dealer would make it like all the other ones or else. I just hate to see folks get slammed because they are disatisfied with a less than perfect product when everyone elses appears perfect. I certainly hope I didn't upset you WH401, I just wanted to make sure that 47chevy didn't get unfairly hammered for his discontent with a purchase that he like the rest of us dreamed about for a very long time only to have the dream shattered due to being unlucky enough to get a "freak" tractor. Stick with it 47chevy and don't back down from the dealer; make him make it right for you!

As said before, none of us are harping on him for his unhappiness. If anything we are expressing our shock from the fact that one would contemplate getting rid of a $20k machine over the distaste of a part that costs less than a dollar, rather than attempt to fix it on his own as obviously the dealer has attempted to fix it and hasn't come up with any working options.
BTW, when do you plan to confront your dealer about the "sub-par" design of the way the differential engages on your B2620?, I hear it's hit or miss in operation and that the pedal just pops out randomly. Also, when you find out that there isn't much the dealer can do to fix it and that you'll just have to improvise in your use of the tractor, which classifieds page do you plan to list it for sale on??
