Hi John! Glad you joined in!

You know it's funny, I always wished I had a new(er) utility tractor but I could never afford one. It took me until I retired but, I'm the proud owner of a New Holland TC55DA. Same thing with the King Cutter. I thought I'd never own a 3PT rototiller either, but here I am with a brand new one!

Sometimes things do work out!

That looks like a nice fresh one. Most I see at TSC have sat on their lot or at the distributing wharehouse long enough to be a rusted mess. Let us know how it works with the TC55. I'd like to know if your low 1st gear is slow enough for the hard new areas.

This is what I have noticed around here!!!And That is the first thing I thought when I saw the picture!!:)

Hi iplumb!

Yep, I guess I lucked out with this one! Not a speck of rust on it. It was the only one on the lot besides a 4 footer. The 4 footer looked just as nice.

Does the KK II's gearbox com pre filled or do you have to service it. If so.......what type of oil?

Thanks

Hi Hugh!

The KK II comes dry - no lube, no grease. There are two gearboxes, one for the PTO and one on the side for the tine reel shaft plus grease zerks on the PTO u-joints and the tiller reel shaft bearing.

I used Traveller's gear lube (got a bunch of that around) and a muti-purpose lithium grease for the zerks.

You need to look at your owners manual. Think its 80-90 gear oil.

Hey greenmule!

Sorry, I miss-typed! I guess I meant to say gear oil. The Traveller's stuff is 85W - 140, just like the manual calls for.
