Guy is holding the tractor for me until tomorrow so I need to make a decision.

Here is what I am looking at.

2004 4210 with 1000 hrs
curtis cab with heat
47 backhoe
420 loader
59" snowblower
60" deere rear finish mower
brand new frontier 5' rotary cutter (never used)
brand new frontier tiller (never used)
loaded turf tires

He is down to $21000.... Thoughts?

I know some have commented on the 4210 being somewhat underpowered. But this is going to be used around my house and to mow a 5 acre field. DO you think given my property is flat that I should be ok with the 4210?

Thanks for the help!

My father just bought a 2004 4110 with 165 hours, 60 inch 7 iron MMM, 410 Loader, Frontier 1157 tiller, Ag tires & Turf Tires, 47" deere snow blower & I-match all in like new condition for 14,000.00.

Your getting a larger tractor, a backhoe, and a Rotary cutter that he did not get, but you are also getting a bunch more hours.

Is the tractor in great shape with good maintenace records?

IMHO the guy might still be high, but you get a lot of attachments........

Sorry I that as much as I can help......

If the implements are what you would buy and/or use then it is a decent deal. 1000 hrs is not enough to worry me either, assuming the current owner put 200 hrs a year on it leads me to believe it had regular use. This is better for the tractor than long periods of non use. If the tractor and implements are all in good shape and well cared for I would go for it.

I would think the cab would be a real plus where you live too, and their not cheap.

For the space you intend to work this should be a good match and you would have most of the more expensive implements.

They are all implements that I can use. It is a one owner tractor and the majority of the hours came from snowblowing. The tractor was always stored inside as well as the attachments. It seems good tractors are still selling in the Northeast for what they are worth. When I looked at it, it was as clean as new.

IMO, its high....for a couple reasons..
-Contrary to popular belief on the part of sellers, aftermarket cabs do NOT add any value to the machine. ESPECIALLY not a curtis cab. A Laurin would add a little value...
-Hours are not "out of control" but IMO not inline with the price
-If you shop around in the Southern Maine area (I'm in Western Maine) you can probably find a xx20 series with 1/2 the hours.

I can only honestly answer questions in the shoes of "What I would do" and when I was shopping I went with a brand new 3520 factory Cab model and am just adding my attachments one at a time when I find smokin deals.

I have been shopping around for a few months and the ones that I have found, with half the hours are in the 15k range with a loader and maybe a backhoe. In addition, I have looked at some 200 hr units that look like they have been beat right into the ground.

I am not interested in a new tractor that is not going to make me money. This is going to be only used around the house as a toy.

So let em ask this, is it worth spending a little extra to get a well cared for tractor?

When you consider that you are buying a tractor out of warranty the care and condition it has had is very important. From what you have said this tractor and the implements have been well cared for and to me this would make a huge difference.

On the cab, Curtis isn't the best thing out there but I wouldn't say it is worthless either. I think you will appreciate having some protection in the winter months but find it hot in the summer unless you can remove the doors.

As for the price, have you talked to a dealer about a similar package? Are you comfortable with it? No one on this forum is going to help pay for it so you have to decide. :D

I had originally priced out a new 3320 and with a loader, backhoe, cutter and tiller it was going to be $35000. For a toy around the house that would be used once a week I could not justify it.

It is a soft side cab so the doors pop right off....

Payment is not an issue... I am just trying to figure out if I am getting taken for a ride. To give you an idea of the pricing around here, a 4310 with a loader, snowblower and cutter sold for $17000.

You can always approach the seller with checkbook in hand and offer a little less and see if he goes for it.

Good luck with your decision.

The seller is a actually a dealer that took the tractor in on trade for a 3520 cab tractor. He gave em the contact number of the original owner and I was able to speak to him...

Will let you know what I ultimately decide.
