BX2360 or B Series? (I know you all get tired of these)

I had a BX24 and went up to a 2920. Both are fuel misers, my 2920 gets about 11hr/ per 6 gallon tank. After reading all the posts I think a BX would be the best "mower" for your situation. Since you already have a larger tractor w/ FEL you really only need a mower/ SCUT. My 24 had no problem knocking down 1.5ft tall grass in high gear on a 90 degree day. The only thing I had to do was wipe off the air screen when done.
I went to the 2920 because I did not have a bigger tractor. I needed the 3 ranges, greater pump capacity, and higher ground clearance.

Good luck!

The biggest problem I have with my JD riding mower right now isn't that it can't handle the acreage. It's that sometimes I don't get around to mowing for several weeks or longer, and when it gets that high, it's very difficult to manage. So I was thinking a RMM or even a bush hog-type attachment would work better. However, if the MMM work just as well on high grass, that would be good to know.

I wish I had taken pictures. I originally purchased a small brush hog for my BX2350 to mow the meadow in front of my house. The grass was 3 feet tall and the brush hog worked ok but the finish cut was not what I was after. So I traded the brush hog in for the 60" MMM and use that for the meadow now. The MMM will plow thru 12 to 18" grass like nothing and does a much nicer job. The only reason I would go back to a brush hog is if I had rocks and stumps but I slowly got rid of those. The mower on the BX is impressive in what it will do. I've even used it to mow down taller grass when I knew what was underneath.

On exmark's website a 60"deck cuts 5-6 acres per hour at 10mph and the 72" deck cuts 6-7.2. If the ground is very rough you cant go that fast. When I bought my BX my intention was to replace my ZTR but I am glad I did not. For my yard there is NO comparison. The ZTRs are faster and have different deck designs and higher tip speed of the blades.

Well, at my yearly ritual, I am looking to trade down to a BX... again. Every year I get tired of the B tearing up my lawn. After looking at a BX2660 tonight, I may be jumbling numbers tomorrow.

What B and what tires do you have? I use my BX2350 MMM turf tires for mowing and my B3200 I4's mostly for FEL, Landscape rake and boxblade so I'm not pushing one over the other. But check weights of BX you want versus B you have. Weight may be the same and you'll be like me, sometimes just trading to be trading.:) Change of tires may save your B or be true to yourself and just trade because you have "the fever".:D.

I have the B7510. Yes, I want to make a trade, but it is mor induced by wanting to let my son and wife use the tractor if they want, and the B7510 is a little too big for my son to mow with, and I'd like the better mowing results of the BX. Their capabilities are so similar that It's almost stupid, but my son in a year or so will be mowing, and he'll have a better position on the BX for comfort and visibility. Besides, the DW sould mow in the BX and use it for her gardening. The B7510, is just too big she says.

My tractor is a primary mower, but I will not trade a FEL for anything - even if I would only use it for snow removal, which certainly is not the case. Otherwise, it's pick this up here, move that there, move mulch, spread dirt, move snow. etc... The BX is more that capable on my 1-3/4 acre. I got the B thinking I'd see 4+ acres some day, but that's not happening anytime soon.

The BX is the best for mowing, in my opinion, period. Acreage doesn't matter if the mower deck is the same size and you don't have ground clearance problems with the BX. In case you get the additional acres later. The BX's will do what the B's will do if ground clearance doesn't matter and even FEL work but it takes slightly longer with a BX. So, if mowing is the main use----TRADE and do it today, right now, Call them. Stop putting yourself through this and start smiling or increase smiling as I do since trading my L3240 for a B3200 even with all the nay sayers saying bigger is better. It ain't!! Each machine has it's strengths and you need a BX!!!
