Well, thanks for all the replies. I don't thing AG tires are an option for me with 85% dedicated mowing. They'd really do my lawn in. One of the reasons I'm going to the BX is for mowing quality.

As for the R4's for $300, they are from a different dealer that I was contemplating buying the tractor from, but they turned out to be more expensive since I'd have to sell my current tractor outright - and that's just because I'd have no tax advantage when buying outright. I'd have to sell my B for $12,000, and that doesn't seem possible. So, I doubt the dealer will sell me R4's for $300 if I'm not buying the tractor from him. I'll try though because the dealer I am buying the BX2660 from quoted $800 for the R4's. Ouch! I won't do it for that price.

$800, thats insane! I went to another dealer that i have never been too and they had a set of turfs sitting in the corner and asked how much and they told me $300. This was after i aready had my machine from a dealer that i never purchased from... Maybe i should go price the 60mmm deck and turfs and maybe spend the money now just incase prices go up. I just wont use it for another year or two and i kindof dont want it sitting around...

Well good luck with your purchase.

The B7510 is a great little tractor. :confused:Its not that much larger than
a BX. If your going to lose a bunch of money on the trade, I'd keep it!

I traded in my 5 year old B7500,hst,302 fel, curtis cab. It had 700 hours, the machine was in very good condition with the exception of a bad front axle seal. i got $8000. in trade toward my 3030, the dealer had the machine out front the next day for $10000,

Because the B7510 is too intimidating for the DW to mow with, and the DS will be mowing in a year or so, am seriously contemplating downgrading to a BX2660 or a JD2305. I don't need the larger B7510, which really only seems to only offer more ground clearance over the BX. The extra 3pt lifting capacity of the B7510 will never be an issue for me, either, as the largest implement I'll ever use (if even I do) will be a tiller. The loader on the BX is close enough to the B7510 in capacity that my gravel, black dirt, mulch, and snow removal tasks will certainly not be compromised by the BX. I think the BX will be an all better machine for the DS to mow with, but still allow me to retai my loader capability.

I really dont know of the b7510 to compare, but the bx is easy enough for anyone to use, very user friendly, like a lawn mower. This is probably his issue.

I recently went through a bought of insanity with a possible trading up. My B7510 (with LA302 and 60" mowing deck) has 210hrs and is in great shape. I was offered between 10,200 and 10,800 as trade in toward a larger tractor. In the end I decided it was dumb of me to do it and very glad I did. My tractor is payed off and fits 90% of my uses. It 'ain't broke but I tried to fix it.

I agree... INSANITY... but since I bought the B7510, I've always considered it to be a bit more than what I need on 1-3/4 acres. I was set on the BX originally, but at the last minute after talking to my Dad, I went "B". I have a nasty habit of always thinking "Bigger is Better". Now, most of my tractor seat time is mowing, and then snow removal in the winter. Still, I do a fair amount of loader work with dirt, mulch, moving things, etc., so I won't live without a FEL. For my wife and son to use, the BX will be better, although it will take awhile for me to dare to let them in the seat.

I like on the BX over the B because of the suspended mower. My bumpy yard hates the ground contact type of the B. The height adjustment and maintenance is easier on the BX. Taking the deck off the B is a chore that always requires the loader to be on. No matter how, i never find the way to sneak it out without the loader lifting the front end. The BX turns tighter and is more compact and lower to make my son more comfortable mowing in a few years.

As my previous posts read, my B rips up the grass on turns and under my trees. I like a nice clean manicured yard, and the B is less than stellar in this department. I'm on my second B (a 7500 and a 7510), and neither made me excited in the mowing department. I went fromn turf tires to bar turfs, and neither one work any better. They cut terribly, unless I turn very slow and not half-way tight. That's why I have been looking for a nice used gardern tractor. But for a little more than what a good used dedicated garden tractor is going for, I can add that cash to my trade, and go with one single compromised machine (a BX) and eliminate taking storage space I don't have, having extra repair bills on another machine, and getting eaten out of house and home with gasoline bills over diesel.

I still think that the few grand it will cost to go to the BX could buy a nice tiller and some other implements for my B, or the front snow blower, but I am sure by fall, or next spring, I'll be back at the same point... wondering if I should trade to a BX.

The BX will do anything I curretly do, and the 1-3/4 acre I maintain is peanuts compared to those here on TBN that use their BX's for 5 & 6 acres. The loader on the BX barely compromises over the B, the mower on the BX is still 60" - only a better deck (suspended), and the only other advantage of the B beisides ground clearance is the 3pt litf capacity - which I'll never need 1,000 pound for. comprom

I know it's not happening for free, but I think the BX is the best compromise.

Go ahead everyone... now's the time for thoughts and recommendations. I haven't bought the new BX just yet.

OH NO!!! Don't get me wrong in your particular case it might be a better choice. Probably a better choice given the tasks you listed. In my case I have to have a machine that can go in the woods and haul a few dozed sawlogs. I thought I would need a bigger tractor when all I needed was different tires that are loaded. That is my particular case. Yes the B7510 is kind of big for mowing and kind of small for hauling large pieces of wood. I realized that it was a good mid-ground for me. I never used a BX but I think it is a small tractor that can also mow grass. It is not just a large lawnmower that will do some other stuff. Put an add on craigslist and see if someone would like to trade a used BX for your B7510. I just traded tires with someone that same way.

I would keep the 7510, but I think the bx cuts grass better. You will loose 2k on a trade.

But will get a brand new shiny bx for the whole family to enjoy and use!
