wow, I forgot about this. Well, as it is over a year later, I broke down sometime last year and bought some 48" QA pallet forks from my dealer. They were expensive, but they are also used frequently. Much more frequently used than I had originally thought. I don't know the name of them, or their weight rating off the top of my head. I could post a pic of them as they sit outside, but who hasn't seen forks before.

I actually have had some difficulty with dropping the bucket and attaching the forks, as the QA lever keeps dropping on me. Now I use a bungee to hold the lever straight. All in all, if they wear out before I die I will be surprised.

I have the same problem and less than satisfactory solution. Trouble is that the angle of the lever when open is such that the bungee slips off unless I wrap it around a couple of times. PITA. I keep meaning to weld a washer to the handle so I can hook the bungee in place. Now you've reminded me that I forgot to do it again this weekend.

Hey IT, I use a small rubber bungee that has decent s hooks on them, and not one of the plastic hook cheap kind. This may solve your issue without having to do any welding.

when open/up my lever is almost straight up in the air.

My lever is not straight up when open and it tends to fall partially closed unless I restrain it. I'll keep your suggestion in mind but may try to justify the purchase of a fancy portable welder by using it to tack a washer on'

When you lock your implement onto the QA, is your lever all the way down (the one on mine locks down)? I wonder if you can adjust the lever? Just thought I'd mention it. It may be a difference between models, but I wouldn't think so.

I do appreciate the idea of purchasing a welding rig for a washer:D

Nah, already had the welding rig but the washer provides justification in hindsight.;). Let me see, to fix this would require welding a washer and if I didn't have a welder I'd have to get the tractor off the island, to a welding shop, pay for a minimum welding charge then get the tractor back to the ferry and back on to the island. I'm figuring about $300-500 mostly for the transport. "So, you see honey, I've already paid for half the welder.":)

If you don't have a welder you could just grind a slot into the back side of the lever for the bunge to hook to.

Are you trying to get me in trouble?:p

Trouble? No, why would ya think that:confused: A washer welded on is a fine idea, I was just sugesting an alternative:).....I do have an off the topic question for ya though. Are the "clear" feul bowls clear like a drinking glass? I believe my dk40se has the "white" bowl, but I can still see through it. Since I've never saw the crack prone clear ones I have nothing to go by. TIA
