John Deere Over-Rated?

Being the owner of a JD 110 TLB, a JD 4210 and Kubota 2910, I am glad that I do not depend on the Kubota for making money. It never fails that when I need parts for the 2910 it is 3 to 5 days to get them. With the JD's I can typically have them by 10am the next morning. That is itself is worth the premium you pay for a JD.

JD service and reliability TOP NOTCH to date...own a 4720 and a 2305. My L3830 Kubota was junk...had 3ph valve replaced, full HST replacement, and detente/loader control arm froze every winter. Paint on Kubota faded to the ugliest Orange imaginable within a year. Sorry Kubota loyalists, but having had both, my vote is solidly, without question JOHN DEERE. There are a dozen features JD has that Kubota just copies...loadmatch is one of many examples. Oh, BTW, anyone try to replace the battery on a Kubota L Series? I'd rather have a root canal than do that again. BUT...no matter your ride, have fun...diversity is the spice of life. Kinda like choosing blondes from brunettes...we equate preference and expereince with our decisions. Enjoy!

Maybe the Kioti/Bobcat owner's just complain more?:D
The more things cost (in comparison) the less people will complain. It would be like saying "my tractor cost more but it is a piece of crap". Who would want to intentionally look like an idiot? On second thought, I've look like an idiot way too many times in my life anyway.

I'm currently in the market for a CUT. I have narrowed my choices to a Kubota L3400 and the John Deere 3038e or the 3032E. I'm leaning heavily toward the John Deere. I hadn't even considered the John Deere until my second trip to the Kubota dealership. The salesmen there acted like they were doing me a favor talking to me so I went down the road and though I'd just take a look at JD. I tell the salesman the price ($18495) on a package deal I was looking at at Kubota. (L3400 gear shift, trailer, 5ft. box blade, 5 ft. rotary cutter and FEL, R1 tires) and ask him his price for a comparable JD package. He tells me $18295 for a 3032e with and the same package as Kubota. What? John Deere is cheaper than Kubota? That can't be! Not only was it cheaper but the 3032 has hydrostat transmission. The trailer JD has is a much more heavy duty tube frame. The Kubota guys were offering angle iron framed trailer and said I could get a tube frame trailer for $18995.
I'm actually looking at the 3038e now for $1000 more than the 3032. Before I began shopping for a tractor I never even considered John Deere because I ASSUMED they would be more expensive. My dad owns a Kubota L3400 and has never had any problems with it so I knew they made quality stuff but due to John Deere offering a better deal I will be driving GREEN soon! :D

Being a current owner of a kubota 3240 grand L Tractor I can tell you that the battery replacement is a "piece of cake" and "kubota" designed it to be that way.

PROCEDURE:

1. remove both lower side skirts (4) half twist thumb screws.
2. Then remove 2 more half twist thumb screws on each side of grill.
3. unplug both headlight conectors
4. remove the entire front grill assembly
5. remove battery

The whole process to maybe 2 minutes to do and then the battery is perfect for the pickin just unbolt it and it's out. This also makes cleaning out the front radiator/ac condensor very easy as well. I think if you look it's in your owners manual you will see details of the procedure.

You know I have owned 2 kubota grand L tractors and have never had the first problem.

Getting to the battery of my M6800 with a FEL was a nightmare... Luckily, I never had need to replace the battery. :D

Most people enjoy having a quick dismount loader not just the bucket! Your call, we haven't seen anyone making a non-quick dismount loader in twenty years till now. Not leading here, but behind, should drop the price by about 500!
