Sorry to hear that, I sure would be disappointed. Are you sold on weimerian or you just want a dog?

sold the dog out from under me.
Then it wasn't meant to be. Don't take it as a negative, it's a positive. Move on and find another that's meant for you.

Interesting thread, I have three dogs now, or maybe I should say my wife has one and I have two. They are all "shelter/strays" and are exceptionally good/loyal dogs. There is much benefit to be gained from taking a shelter dog, for one thing, they will be the most loyal dogs you'll ever own.

My first dog was a pup when he came here, bout 10 weeks old, black, part Chow and part Lab, I washed him and collared him, and named him Gus, short for Augustus. He has been a phenomal dog.

My second dog, or I should say my second yard dog, came here recently, another stray. Very pretty dog, cross between yellow lab, chow, and whatever; sweet disposition, the only dog in two years that Gus would allow on the property, let alone rub noses with.

So, long story short, I name this dog "Woodrow," and I now have "Woodrow and Gus," and everybody in my parts know why I named them this way.

What a pair!

I am not set on them but i am looking for a pointer that wants to hunt very well. So I have called on a German shorthair Pointer. I told the breeder who was a very nice guy that i was going to call him in the morning and let him know when we would come up... I got an email as I got into the truck this morning that they sold the dog last night to a person who called before me....

I hear ya.... Part of me is thinking about not even looking at dogs and simply just getting my quail pen started and seeing what might fall in my lap. My neighbor is a vet, and I know all I would have to do is say something to him... But I would rather have a chance to look and play with a dog before I take it. He would simply drop one off, thinking he was doing me a favor... He is a very nice guy....

... Only a couple of things I'd change, she poops in the yard instead of the woods like ..

Be thankful.

Our great "hunting" dog, a Golden, does not like to get her feet or back wet. We had a lot of rain yesterday.....

She popped on the porch.:rolleyes: Its the wifey's dog. ;)

The dog does have some good hunting genes. There was a baby bunny hiding in this little stand of nutsedge. The dog went right up to the bunny, which no body saw, and picked up said bunny. Our neighbor was up to the house with his golden and he had the presence of mind to tell our dog to "Drop It." while the wifey yelled at the dog to let the bunny go. :D:D:D The dog did drop the bunny which went bounding off into the woods. I kinda saw all of this while driving up the driveway in the tractor with a load of logs. Wondered what they heck all of the commotion is about. :D

Later,
Dan
