The advantages of a tilt for loading are obvious. I was wondering what the disadvantages, if any, might be over a fixed deck. I would think the tilt would weigh a little more and cost more and a few more things to go wrong, maintain and rattle over lifetime. What are the advantages/disadvantages of a split tilt versus a full tilt? Different load angle, cost ?
Lookin forward to answers to some/all of the above aforementioned questions.

i am thinking of a full tilt just because i have seen so many people get hung up on the split tilts around hear i have also noticed that the the split decks have a tendincy to bend down in the rear in a short time it kinda looks like in order to make the air cylinder work they have to have to much over hang in the back and the mill channel just starts to give

I was thinking about it a little more and I guess one use for the split deck would be if you were loading a tractor plus multiple pieces of equipment. You could back the first piece of equipment onto the fixed part and then go back and get the rest along with the tractor. Same thing if you wanted to load some pallets of fertilizer or whatever in the front.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner. You load your buckets or palletized material on the fixed part so they're not tilted when unloading.

Kinda nice not having a 2K pallet of bricks not sliding off into the front of the tractor when the bed is tilted. :D

Get a winch and a hyd tilt and you can do the same thing.

That's what i would plan on doing everything has to be tried down anyway the only differance i would be tying down be for the complete trailer was full and if i was hualing brick i would probly have it tied better than the otheir guy going down the road just because of the type of trailer
