I think the argument/settlement for the newer B and BX models 1st scheduled HST oil change has been achieved via Kubota indicating that the owners manuals that came w/these newer models were wrong and that they recommend to change the HST fluid & filter @ the 50 hr mark. This has been verified by an authorized Kubota dealer and several posters who recieved reply's from Kubota regarding the conflicting info giving in the new B & BX owners manuals.......
Theres been no retraction from Kubota re. the 1st scheduled HST filter & oil change on the L series and up so unless there is a retraction, those owners should follow their manuals.
re. why 50 hrs and not 10 or 25?
Your guess is as good as mine but it could be possible that the Kubota engr's had discovered via trial and error that it takes approx 50 hrs for the B & BX model HST's to clear their systems of possible break in debris.
Maybe their studies showed it took 46.6 hrs or maybe 45.8, who knows, but my guess is the 50 hrs bench mark is just that, a benchmark when followed will ensure that they will honor their warranty should a fialure occur......
The L's and M's hold quite a bit more fluid, have larger filters and have larger hydraulic cooling systems so that may come into play on extending the life of the hydraulic fluid.
The BX uses a fan only to force air across the HST's pressurizing section and the B models have much smaller hydraulic oil cooling radiators than the larger tractors and when considering it's the heat that breaks down the hydraulic oils additive pkg's, it's probable the hydraulic oil in the B & BX models may run hotter than the larger tractors which causes the oil to lose it's lubricating and cooling properties sooner. But thats just a swag on my part...
Course, Kubota just may be just a geedy company and wants to sell us as much unnecessary hydraulic oil as possible, who knows
