Speaking of foarm pro problems, yes i've had problem with the tractor. my latest is the clutch and actually getting thru to Homiers phone & emails. it took me 2 days just to talk to some one. What my proble was, is the 3 forks that push against the pressure plate, broken, ok ordered (3) got (1) after even speaking to someone i got (1) what the? Anyways i replace the (1). my question for all of you is which way does the clutch face. shoudler to the rear? i was told both clutch shoulders face the rear. but i don't think that's right. Can't tell from the hand drawn manual Any ideal on that? and how thick should the clutch plate be. I'm not sure if mind is bad. how can i tell.
Thanks for any help on this:(

We've got a language barrier here. The three "forks" you mention, are you sure they're not the clutch release fingers? If so, they make contact with the throwout bearing, not the pressure plate(s). And yes - assuming a two stage clutch - there's more than one pressure plate. Three actually, if you count the flywheel face.

And your "which way does it face" question makes no sense at all. There's only one possible way to bolt a clutchpack onto a flywheel. You must be using terminology that I don't understand. Which "clutch plates" are you asking about? I'm guessing friction disc. I believe a new one to be about 0.40 inch. You shouldn't have to worry about pressure plate thickness, unless there's some reason to have them refaced.

YES, EXCATLY. THE 3 forks make contact with the throw bearing. i got that correct. But the clutch plates them selves have a sholder on one side. the other side is flat. Maybe you call them friction disc. i called the a clutch plate. Yes, the is only one way for the system to bolt back on. don't know if you can bolt it on backwards. I was told that the discs them selves, the sholder faces towards the rear of the tractor . I didn't take notice when i removed them. the manual or what you can make of it looks like they face towards the front. understand? sorry about the previous description:confused:

That is correct. We did one today.

GOT it back together, and it still seems like its the clutch is not engaging. Now i didn't start the tractor. i just put it in gear and pressed the pedal. and i couldn't move it . i can see the forks engaging. What else could it be. ??

Did you adjust the stack height and level the fingers before putting the two halves of the tractor back together?

The clutch sounds like it's still out of adjustment, I don't think you can adjust the stack height prior to installation or rejoining of the two halfs,it's not hard to adjust.

PS . If you don't want to wait 2-3 days to talk to someone or get parts give us a call, we are the largest Jinma parts supplier in the USA,and ship out the same day orders are recieved in most cases

Um, I believe you may be thinking of something else Tommy. I'm pretty sure you know quite well that on the typical Chinese tractor, stack height can only be adjusted on the bench - or on the flywheel - while the tractor is still in two pieces. The symptoms described by the OP suggest that he tightened down every single bolt on the clutch pack as part of the installation. If the Belleville springs become fully compressed, there's simply no room for them to release. Stack height is too short.

Greg I have put at least 50- clutchs in the Jinma tractors, never have I adjusted a stack height on the bench or flywheel .We mount the new clutch pack, adjust the PTO clutch, reassemble the tractor and adjust the main clutch and free play, its very simple. Where are you getting the stack height dim. from ??? What is it on a 254/284 Jinma tractor ?

That's scary. I simply don't trust a Chinese replacement clutch to be adjusted properly right out of the box. None I've installed were less than 10mm out of adjustment. I'm left with the distinct impression that they are only bolted together for packaging - no actual calibration involved. Besides, the OP has had his disassembled and reassembled already. Perhaps that's the part you missed. To me it sounds like he's over-tensioned his Belleville springs.

Not sure about the original 8". That's before my time. Stack height for the subsequent 9" three finger is 96.8mm. Not sure about the newer six finger either. But if it's similar to the 9" six finger on my TS354C, stack height is 101.5mm
