Oil & Fuel any easy way to get gas in the tank?

Are those not the lousiest fuel cans anyone has ever used and that s all the stores seems to carry! Besides getting fuel all over your hands when you remove and reinstall the nozzle, they take forever to empty. Bring back the cans with the separate vents and stationary nozzles. I know its sounds trivial, but
1*I cuss these fuel cans out every time I use them.

I replace the spout with a Han-D pump and pump the first 3 gallons in by hand. That fills my tank or almost. Then when I need to fill up again, I put a funnel in the fuel opening, toss the spout aside and
2* pour it in the funnel.

1* & 2* Get a 15 30 or 55 gallon drum and a 12 volt pump and you can forget them nasty ole cans.

btw, there are full service stations all over NJ, no self serve there.

I (well ok, my wife) have happily used a HanDPump for many years. The original hose rotted after about 3 or 4, so it was replaced. Now after about 5 years the flapper valves in the pump have given up. So a trip to Harbor Freight for a new one is in the plans.

Meanwhile, to my surprise, she says that she actually prefers just pouring in the fuel using the 5 gal can and my "fuel tank neck extender". I made this up after I bought the tractor (and before the purchase of the HanDPump) because it was impossible to get a regular can spout anywhere near the tank neck due to the loader arms. The extender consists of a long-radius piece of 2" grey plastic conduit, about 12" long, with a threaded conduit nipple on one end. The nipple just perfectly and snugly fits down inside the tank neck, thus raising the "target" for the fuel can up about 12" above the hood. She just rests the can on the hood and tips the spout into the "extender".
