I just purchased 14 acres of open field and I know my 5' belly mower will feel way too small, Will my b3200 handle a 7' finish mower?, thanks for any input.

My thoughts would be a 6 foot would be most appropriate.I'm thinking a 7 foot might be a little heavy, regardless of the HP requirement.Your B3200 would normally use a 5 foot rotary cutter or 6 foot rear mower.Good Luck.

You may be right, if so I would swap out my 5' belly mower for a 6 footer

well... I don't know. But the 3030 handles a 6 foot mower effortlessly, so I'd bet if you didn't let the grass get too high between mowings you could make it work...

I used my first 6'RFM on a B7800. It was a light weight deck and the tractor handled it effortlessly but the deck kept tearing up. Traded it for a Landpride 6' RFM that's built like a tank. The B7800 and the L3240 handled it but the L3240 would slow down near the crest of the hill. The B7800 had no problems with keeping power but when I would reach the bottom of the hill the deck would sort of swing the tractor which was no problem because I knew it was going to do it. I now do most of my mowing with my BX2660 so I don't need the RFM. Paid $1750 for it, will take $950 for it. Never really used it over 6 times on about 3 mowed acres.

Some of this probably depends on what mower. I think there can be alot of difference in weight when you talk quality of construction. I had a 5 foot Land Pride RFM on my B780 and moved up to a 6 foot Land Pride. My B7800 would cut with it but I felt it was working my HST pretty hard. I had some slope to my yard (about 3 acres). On my B7800 I wouldn'd want to have used any bigger mower.

Another things to consider is fitting a 6 versus 7 around obsracles, through gates. I mow my ditch with the 6 not sure about that if I had a 7 foot. What about fitting a 7 foot on a trailer if you need to transport things?

That being said since I've sold my B7800 for a L3940 I'm keeping my eye out for a deal on a 7 footer.

Contact Barlows and see if they have a delivery in your area. They would bring it for fair price if their driver is coming that way.

Thanks for all your responces, the lot i am purchasing has a gentle slop, no trees and flat, (not bumpy) and I wouldn't have to lift it with the 3ph.(I think). If I can I will borrow or rent one to test it out.
