Loved My NH TC35 D up until 2 weeks ago.I had the tractor halved at the local dealer to fix a leak. Turns out a mouse got in and built a nest between the trans and HST and he pee corroded the lower pto shaft and ate into the seal area causing the leak... ( YES REALLLLLY ) OK no big deal we'll just order a new shaft and be on our way right ...WRONG. now the poor dealer has the tractor apart and laying all over the shop the NH Rep will not return calls and the NH people are saying the shaft is not available without buying the HST complete $8000.00 US Dollars..... don't get me wrong the dealer has been great so far but man i can't believe NH's Indifference to the customer. So far i have called all the tractor parts people i could find online and no one seems to have a used HST or Parts for HST. I have the damaged shaft and i am looking into alternate repair procedures but would be nice to come up with a new shaft. if any body has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

You either have to find someone who can fix your shaft or you'll end up riding a $8k "pony." Otherwise, you'll be parting out the tractor or selling it for salvage. Finding a salvage transmission is a needle in a haystack.
BTW: The HST transmission is not made by New Holland. It's made in Japan by Kayaba Industry Co. Ltd. of Japan, it is type HVFD-28C37-M. Maybe you can use that info to dig through the "haystack."

Did you try partspring.com at the following: New Holland
I've found they have pretty much everything.
On the homepage, use the utility to enter your model number and then a list of schematics comes up. You can navigate to the Transmission/PTO schematics in particular using the link on the left side of the page.
If you can't find it, call them as they are quite helpful.

There was a post a couple of weeks ago about trying to find an input shaft and had the same results as you NOT AVAILABLE. It is realy hard to beleive you cant buy the shaft seperate. Is there a gear on the end of the shaft , or is it splined to go inside a gear.

Just got off the phone with Kayaba industry USA and here it is .
The HST trans is a proprietary OEM unit built for New Holland it is current and still being used in the 3040 3045 and 3050 Compact tractors...
The shaft and other components are available from KYB to New Holland however it is up to New Holland as to how They want To sell their parts .
So Evidently New Holland CHOOSES to sell it as an assembly for $8000.00

the shaft has 2 spline sections and a couple of bearing surfaces. Not super complex but still would not attempt to make without original specs because it is buried in the tractor requiring a ton of work to get to it.
BTW The NH rep Finally called me today and basically told me that a replacement shaft was not going to happen and neither would a print for the shaft. - Nice -
well on the upside i may have a nice fix that may work and will not require a lot of heat on the shaft. The dealer is great and is willing to try.
On the other hand people interested in NH especially the older Tc-D HST models 35-40-45 and the new 3040-3045-3050 should really beware there is an $8000.00 Jack-In-The-Box waiting for them...
as for me i am now starting my research on the ORANGE and or GREEN ( Goodbye BLUE) i will try to trade mine in if all goes well with repair.
All this to avoid -Jack- U BET Rather spend the eventual/inevitable 8K on trade toward a Company that will treat a customer a little more decently and with a better post sale attitude.

What year is your tractor? I competant machine shop could make you a new shaft and heat treat it. Get the numbers off the bearings and buy them new and take the I.D. specs from the bearings.
Heck make spares and sell them.
I can't believe NH does not sell these parts separetly.
I alwys figured these boomer compact tractors would someday be throw aways. Many gentlemen/hobbyist farmers out there will just buy a new one like they buy a new car and don't think anything about it. A 15-20 year old tractor at most...but I may be wrong.
