Kubota BX2660
For a BX2660.
I've got a quote from my local Kubota dealer for a Land Pride 42", rtr0542, slip clutch, $1750. Also, a local landscaper sells King Kutters, 48", MODEL: TG-48-XB, slip clutch, for $1500. I like the idea of buying from my dealer. I was not impressed with the phone call experience from the landscaper office.

I'm looking for thoughts on this, particularly from someone who has experience with both brands.
Thanks.

I recommend the KKII 48" (or County Line equivalent at TSC).

I say take a look at Woods.

I worked with a 48" reverse tine tiller from Land Pride for a weekend and was glad that I had bought the Woods reverse tine model. The Land Pride is a nice tiller but for a similar price range I felt the woods was little bit better designed and sturdier.

Don't know much about King Kutter's tillers.

I would recommend the King Kutter. Solidly built. 6" wider. Lower price. $1500 sounds kinda high though. Check TSC. They may have a better price.

I did a lot of research before buying my Land Pride RTR05 50". The only negative references I found on the KK was paint quality. I went with the Land Pride because my dealer carries them and there are no Woods dealers in this area and no one who sells KK services them; probably won't need it though. I believe either will work well for you.

I have a good dealer and, dealer support means quite a bit to me. I go with dealer even when it's a little more.

I have a BX24 and I just bought a Woods GTCR52-2 and I paid 1789 for it at my Kubota dealer. What ever you get make sure it's wider than the width of your tractor.

So I'll add Woods to the mix. Another nearby Kubota dealer (I live mid way between two of them) offers the Woods GTC40-2 for $1650 and the GTC52-2 for $1750.

How important is the width? I have no need to tiller next to a driveway or fence. The rear tires of the Bota are 44" wide.

I have woods. I'd recommend against it. Its a rebadged italian of noticeably worse quality then the rest of the woods line. Fine, but not a "Woods" product, and I doubt its any better than king kutter.

Note, not junk, I just didn't get what I paid for

Lots of the better quality tillers in this size range have offset ability, at least by a few inches. So long as you can extend it out to the edge of one tire, width is only as important as how much you have to till, how much time you have to till it, how much money you want to spend and how much space you have to store it. Especially if you have no need to tiller next to a driveway or fence.

My opinion anyway, plenty of bigger is better people out there.

I don't know the Kkutter or Woods, but I have a Land Pride reversing tiller and think its a great tiller.

I own a few KK products, They seem to be very heavy duty built. Had a
Woods years ago, it lasted 20 years, with a lot of maintance. Don't know
for sure, but I was told KK manufactures products for other companies,
with other names on them. Tractor supply has a Land Pride I was looking
at. The store people said it was built by KK. Can't prove any of this but
thought I would throw it in for what it's worth.

I have had no problems with my KK TG-48. I would however IMO choose the standard 48" TG series over the XB. The XB has a modified CAT1 3pt (pin centerline closer together) Your 2660 should handle all standard CAT1 (26" Centerline) implements.

Some companies do rebadge equipment, but King Kutter is gear driven while Land Pride is chain driven, so I would imagine they are made by different companies.

I ended up buying the Land Pride rtr0550 today. Deciding factor... it was orange!
Bought from the same dealer that sold me the BX2660 almost exactly one year ago; felt comfortable with the dealership.
Picture soon before first use.
Thanks for all the advice.

I think you will like it, I got one for pretty much the same reasons.

It works GREAT!

Is this a reverse rotation tiller? I too will be buying one for my soon to be had BX2660. Your setup is exactly what I am getting.

Can you tell me how much you paid? The dealer I am buying the tractor from only carries Woods, no Landpride. He give me a price of $1495 for a 4 foot tiller, not sure about the rotation. All this stuff is new to me.
