Has anyone tried this saw from Dualsaw.com?
Looks pretty impressive for cutting just about anything short of cement.
I'm thinking it would be perfect for cutting up plates of steel if it could handle 1/2" thick material.

I watched the video clip on the web site. Looks pretty good. I wonder how long the blades would last cutting steel.

My father just bought one of those things. I am in construction and I just used it while installing a screw down metal roof and I gotta have one. It worked great and I cut over 100 feet of 25 guage roofing and it didn't seam to dull a bit. Awsome control and it contained the metal chips extreamly well. I was very impressed.

I donno, it's one of those "Billy Mays" things, si I'd agree with framer, pass.

I don't know if you are looking for the ultimate in portability or not, but a plain old metal cutting chopsaw should fit the bill. This one is similar to the Hitachi I have. - Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices
If this would work for you, make sure you use internally reinforced blades, such as United Abrasives 14 X3/32 X 1 Metal Iron Worker blades, part # 24051, they work great for me.

I have this chop saw, and it cuts extremely well. The saw cut looks like it is polished. Very little sparks. The rpm of the metal cutting is slower than the reg chop saw. There are different blades for cutting steel, aluminum, etc. It will cut 6 in steel. If you have never used one, you just don't know.

I have cut a bunch of steel, all shapes and sizes, and it is still sharp. The blade life will depend on what you are cutting. Stainless steel needs a different blade. The teeth angles and rake are different. I lost one tooth by lowering the saw to fast. I have seen 14 in blades as low as $30.

You should be able to cut angle iron all day.
