banjo fittings? Not sure I know the answer to that!

The metal 'ends' of the hydrolic hoses, where they are attatched to the machine are (so I have been told) no longer produced; industy has apparently gone with JIC fittings to standardize things.

Ford supposedly had their own version or style that is not compatible with the JIC fittings. Does that sound correct? At least in my case, as this is a "HD Industrial" model, and may be somewhat different than others.

The previous owner was unable to locate the Ford style fittings (?) and resorted to cutting the Ford and JIC fittings in two, salvaging the Ford propriatary half, and brazing it to the newer JIC half.

Does this sound right? I know very little about the hydrolics, but I realize that I will be facing this type of repair sometime. Are you aware of the Ford fittings vs the JIC fittings?

thanks
Mark

the fittongs.. do they look like these? IE.. a stem thru an outter shell that uses crush washers? If so.. most get by with orb fittings.. though.. last time I checked.. the banjo fittings still had part numbers in the CNH system.. mind you that was a couple years ago.. though i'd be surprised if you couldn't get them SOMEWHERE.. lots of import tractors still using banjo fittings..

Nice looking valves, especially the 2 spool. You dont see many of those anymore.

Looks like I missed the double lever one you have in your photo on that "other" site. Still looking for one for my one arm loader.

Hammer,
I have a 1958 1801. If I can be any help let me know.
I know it's suppose to be red and gray. It was painted by PO.

can always get a repop..

and if the 1-arm loader is a trip style.. depending ont he machine.. you don't even need a valve at all.. again.. depending onthe use of the machine.. log splitter single/or dual lever may even work.. again.. depending on your application.

what machine are you putting the 1-arm on?
