Hey Brian, (apologies on the name brain freeze)

Well, even though the mailbox/toolbox didn't work out, you still have one of the prettiest BX's out there, dude. I noticed on a close up, that there was water BEADING UP on your hood and other metal areas.

So, you are a closet waxer too, eh? :D:D:D

Me? Shoot, not going to hide it. I wax mine in the shop, only because the shade gives a prettier shine and no swirls. I ride 'em hard, but don't put 'em away wet.

Can't wait to see your photo spread out at the property, one of these days.

bp fick,
If you can use your imagination, look at the photo and imagine a huge fish pond sitting behind our new property. Kind of an oval shape 40 yards by 40 yards or so . It will start at the drop off directly behind the house and head towards the woodline. The lone tree in the middle will be removed. Then I'd like to get some huge boulders and stack them towards the back (closest to the woodline) and make a water fall that runs year round. That would be cool.

bp fick,
That's a good question... I'm not sure, wherever she tells me to put the garden??? By the way, how you coming along with your small acreage ? I know you wanted a huge garden but just how huge and what do you plan to grow ? And how's that BX1860 holding up ? Have you tested out the 4WD in the mud and going up hills ? The 4WD makes all the difference in the world my friend.

I tilled this with my middle buster. It's roughly a third acre. Now, I have to get it disked and composted before the snow comes. I have another 1/2 acre plot as well. I did that Pre-Bota. This year I grew tomatoes, beans, peas, 5 kinds of squash, peppers, pickles, onions, lettuce, radishes, etc. We enjoy eating/freezing these things. It was a pilot year, as we just got the property in spring. Next year? We go for the gold.

BTW- I am going for an organic certificate. The price point for organic makes it possible to do some things profitably. I grew up on a truck farm, of over 8 acres, so most is all too familiar, but the organic, ie, no chemicals, pesticides or herbicides has been a very enjoyable learning process. I am studying hard.

I had a little issue with the BX. I found a loose hydro line fitting, Ugh. All taken care of now. I jabbered about it on another thread.
Like you, I guess, my BX is a necessary and marvelous tool out here in Beaver Creek.

How far is your property from the base?

LBrown59,
Long time no hear ole timer. How's the fleet of BXs doing ? The St Robert/Waynesville communities border the Northern side of FT Wood along with I-44. Our new property is about 8 miles from the West gate and 10 miles from the main gate. There's a lot of historical value in Waynesville. I've never seen four National landmarks in such a small town (pop 3,700). Trail of Tears, old stagecoach/pony express stop, civil war battle site and Old Rt 66.

bp fick,
Looks like we're about a year behind you in the garden department. Your plot looks great as does your baby bota (love the weights on the rear tires !). Judging by the 2nd photo, I'd say my plot will be about half the size of yours. I've been very interested in the "certified organic" food for some time. Hoping you can share the process involved with us because I intend to do the same. I think I could carve out a fair share at the local farmers market they have every Saturday with purely organic food. How did the loose hydo fitting come about ? Now you have me wanting to go inspect my tractor.

bp fick,
Wow. I agree with radioman that that was a good catch. Glad to hear Kubota responded quickly. When I brought mine home the first time I couldn't figure out why the parking brake wouldn't work. It drove me nuts always having to park on level ground and attachments dropped every time I had to get out of the seat. About two months later, I trailered her to the dealer to get the toothbar installed. I casually mentioned the parking brake problem to JR and sure enough he confirmed that the factory installed the spring backwards. No charge as it was under warrenty.

By the way, I won't be able to check out that disk on ebay until I get home tonight (government computers have a fire wall that block out the fun sites.
