Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I wonder that 'oil filter' wrench, looks like it might also double to remove the water filter case also?

As I recall it worked well to remove the fuel filter retaining ring too. Handy tool for the six or seven bucks that HF charges.

Fine marketing tradition. Is there a Haagen Das (Danish sounding) where ice cream is made?

Maybe they could have used a knock off name instead of Pittsburgh. How about Snap Off tools?

Last week I picked up their 'Oil Filter Wrench' (pliers, actually) on sale.

The quality looks excellent.

Today I found it is ideal for unscrewing the ring securing my Yanmar's fuel filter bowl. If I never use it for anything else (and I will) it is worth having in the tool cabinet for this purpose alone.

Works great for disassembling the Toro sprinkler heads on my irrigation system. One to hold the body, one to turn the top.

I've noticed that too. Chicago Pneumatic is another.

There seems to be a correlating trend in cheap tools everywhere. What the tool lacks in workmanship and materials it makes up for in a tough sounding name... Master Mechanic, Powerbuilt, etc.

That's a deal. If you have a need for such a tool, go buy one...or two. And, remember, this suggestion is from someone who definitely isn't shy about bashing HF items if they are bad. :)

I'd never use a tool like that on an oil filter...

Folks tighten 'em too much, leave 'em on too long and use cheap filters with thin steel.. I've crushed too many using the proper tools ..
That POS might be good for cracking large nuts, but looks like a recipe for disaster in removing an oil filter..

You don't use a wrench to tighten an oil filter. That should be done by hand only. You use the wrench to remove it and who cares if it dents the casing.
