Fill the hose with antifreeze, plug the end, then lift it.

I remember reading somewhere that you should have the water full enough to keep the rim submerged to help with rush prevention.
I think that's for late model tractors with tubeless tires, and particularly important for calcium ballast, while many of these old Yanmars have tube-type tires.

I fashioned a funnel with the outlet reduce to a small enough tube that could be inserted into the valve stem with just enough room for the air to get past then let the funnel do its thing Its a slow process depends how much anti. your adding. I once did an entire tire with the funnel method and calcium and water I mixed it took about 4 hours back and forth filling.

i was about to say why worry about the rim rusting when the water is in a rubber liner (aka tire tube?) Cali that makes sense though about tubeless, untill i understood the method i too thought that you needed antifreeze for rust protection i thought that the water was on the outside of the tube. Live and learn

put 2 gal of antifreeze in a air tank then put air in the tank . hold the tank upside down antifreeze is in your tire in 2 min

Ha! i made my adapter, connected the hose up and turned it on. after about 2 minutes it could hear some creaking and crackling, i was looking around to see what it was-- it was the tyre cracking the rubber and canvas.turned the hose off quickly and removed the fitting.the water came out at 100 MPH! it filled it to the top without bleeding off the air,i let them go for a minute or 2 still with the water rushing out stuck the valve back in it and checked the pressure-25 PSI!!! it must have reached 45 or 50 PSI just with the hose! will now see how it goes with slope tilt and extra weight on the rear for FEL lift.

Sounds like you ruined the tire.

I just gave it some thought, I have a well so the pressure varies from 30 to 75 lbs up and down. My hose has enough room for the air to bleed off past the hose. Possibly with a 'street' pressure and its being constant its a different procedure.I only fill mine to about 75 or less percent and then I find that 10 lbs is about what I like for pressure. If I add on an implement and the tires flex out ill add a few more pounds.
Look forward to hearing your final results

If you put in the correct amount of water, (up to the valve stem at 12:00 o'clock), insert the valve core, and you should read 0 psi, then inflate to recommended air pressure.

If that tire is old, brittle, and now has torn cords, I would worry about driving on side slopes. It could burst at the worst possible time and dump you over.

You might want to get a ROPS next.
