If that tire is old, brittle, and now has torn cords,
You might want to get a ROPS next.

Yeh the tyres are old and brittle.still the original Farm Service Lugs(Rice Paddles) and i do already have a ROPS-not allowed to run it in Australia without one.

Huge Improvement on sideslope, traction and also it does not buck around anywhere as much as it did without water ballast. only thing i noticed it requires more throttle now and the clutch has to work a bit harder. apart from that i am happy.

Here in Oregon it does get cold in the winter, so we use antifreeze & water for the tires.
We save our old antifreeze that we drain from the tractors, and we also buy it from a radiator shop nearby.
We put about 3 gallons of antifreeze per tire on a 1610 =8.3-22 size.

We found that calsium will destroy the rim if the inner tube develops a hole inside, not to mention the damage to the valve stem.
