B7500 Engine Valve Clearance

Ron, I now have 1,049 hours on my B7500 and still have not done the valve check. Please let me know what you decide to do, and what you or your dealer find.

1*All said even at 800-900 hours they are probably not out of adjustment and wouldn't be high on my list...

Rusty, Valve adjustment is not difficult to do but if you've never done it, you can create a real problem.
1* I suggest you find a buddy or acquaintance that has done a valve adjustment before and enlist some help.

Who knows. Normal wear and tear. They will only get slightly more loose because of wear. But if you are not sure how to do it, just leave it. Usually close is good enough, considering you almost need 3 hands to tighten and check at the same time.

All the ones I worked on get louder...IE wear, more clearance, more tapping noise. When I reset them they were always lose. But with the spec on a Kubota at .005-.007, and you are at .010, not a big deal IMO. If for some reason a valve tighens up, again, I've neer seen that...ever, that would be bad news.

As mentioned if you know a little of what you are doing, go for it, otherwise it might end up worse than when you started. But that's easy to double check, just roll the engine over by hand and when the valves stop moving for a quarter turn or so, clockwise from the front.. (I'm not getting technical here... ) then double check.

Hey Guys,
I am new to the forum, but have been reading for several years. I finally pulled the valve cover off my B7500 at 1069 hrs and this is what I found. #1 exhaust was .01 and intake was .0005, #2 exhaust was .009 and intake was .002, and #3 exhaust was .009 and exhaust was .002, so on my tractor valves went in opposite directions if they were set at factory .0059 correctly to start with. I bought tractor new in 2002 so I am the only one to touch it. I set them all back to .006.

Hodge64 - Thanks for sharing your findings. I am about ready to do my 3,000 hr service, and have still not checked my valve clearances. I pray the factory did a good job.
