Great Thread! I like what I have read. I am smiling because I have major, major hard pan at about 18". Really, really difficult to fence in pastures. But, I also have all the softball size rock anyone could dream of having. So, I clear the pastures of the rock and on the 10 acres of pasture I have (at last count) 67 rock jacks of about 30"-36" in diameter holding up "T" posts and corner posts. Any of you guys need any rock for rock jacks, let me know.

What's a rock-jack?

Well it's here... I ordered it on the 6th and it was delivered on the 8th to California... pretty quick if I'd say...

I've seen a bunch of reviews that say the tool itself is great, does a grand job, but packing in box is inadequate and damage occurs in shipping to handle and the box... is this problem yet resolved?

And, is your assessment of the functionality similar to the other reviews I have seen? I'm just about to buy one as a supplement to my back hoe for getting in to those tight places around a pipe in the ground after the hoe does most of the work of getting down to the buried pipe in heavy clay/rock.

I bought it for a project next week and ashamed to say it's still in the Box... did look at the carton and no sign of damage or rough handling...

Depending on how many you need rent a skid steer with a Hydraulic Breaker. May cost a buck or two but will make kids play out of things.

We are all afreaid of renting but there are times we must and this may just be the answer.

Update***

I open the package this morning and found a small 50 cent size dimple on the metal cover of the carrying case...

Inside I found several assorted wrenches, a point and a spade bits, cheap gloves and an oil bottle... it also came with a spare set of motor brushes...

The metal carry case is light gauge steel... I wasn't actually expecting a case... so it's fine...

It is made in China and I normally don't buy anything made in China... seems to be well made for my intended uses and about the right size for me to lug around... got some foundation chipping to do among other things..

My Bosch is much heavier and harder to move around when I'm on the go... So far, I'm satisfied with the little bit of chipping I did...

Oil level OK on mine... extra oil bottle was not full.
