I thought it was a fitting comparison, seeing how a 7000 hour ag tractor loader will be very, very tired. Big difference between a 7k houred tractor and a 7k houred loader tractor.

ps. That is a dang big IF

I wanna think that the model of loader this tractor currently has - 541 - is newer than the tractor. That is; the tractor may not have had the loader mounted until some years after purchase.

So, all those hours on the meter - may not be ALL loader hours.

Now, if the loader was a 245 or something of that vintage, then I might be more convinced that the tractor has had a harder work life than it appears from the pics.

I agree about the loader being newer than the tractor by a good margin. Just because the tractor has a loader doesn't mean it was used hard. I bet there are lots of TBN guys who don't perform every task with the fel. For instance I know my mowers do a lot better job than the fel even if I get the blade razor sharp.

Seriously the tractor and loader look well cared for including the sheetmetal and has the original paint. If it runs as good as it looks I would buy it, if the engine is weak then price a rebuild and lower the offer to cover part of the repair bill. I would not be afraid to rebuild this tractor myself.
