Is there anyone who feels the x320 is worth the extra $$ and why do you feel this way?

It all depends on what your needs are. The X300 and X320 share the same frame and controls, but the engine (17 to 22), transmission (K46 to K58) and mower deck (42" to 48") are all larger on the X320. How much area are you mowing? Do you have hills? Lots of obstacles to mow around? Will you be pulling a heavy cart on a consistent basis, or using the tractor for snow removal?

I have owned a X320 for a couple of years and it is an excellent mower. The large deck and more HP was the selling point to me. I guess it depends on how much mowing you have to do. I have over 1 ac to mow and the larger deck was able to cut down on the amount of time it took me. I had a 42in deck on my previous mower and the larger deck sure is a help. The X320 is a good mower.

Should have said in OP I'm replacing LT 180 I only use a 38" deck because of (gate openings) I will be using the snowblower attachment. I have read where the K58 is also non serviceable. So i guess I'm saying is it worth the upgrade from X300 for tranny that most say is not much better, as far as HP my LT had 17hp and never bogged down!

We've owned an X320 for a few years now. Never have regretted getting the 320 over the 300. The extra power will be handy for the snowblower as well.

I bought my parents an X360. Now that is the way to go. The only complaint I have about it is the tires are not large in circumference and over rutted terrain can result in the floating mower scalping some, but this is only over terrain one really needs a compact or subcompact to handle. As for stoutness, the 320 or 360 are powered essentially the same and do a great job for mowing. The Kawasaki engines really suck down the fuel, though. I have had 7-8 mowers with them, and my truck gets better fuel economy.

my input:
I just got the 304 literally 5 days ago after years of research(or procrastination on my part) It has the kawisacki 17 hp. I am telling you that the 17 kawi like my 23 year old j.d.180 with a kawi is awesome. My property is all hills and obstacles. I chose the 304 for the 4 wheel steer too, and i am not disappointed, at all.
The machine is solid, and what a great cut too. I looked at the other x series models but the 304 at 3200 just made too much sense.

that i have to agree with, they do like to slurp the petrol. That said, the kawi's are awesome machines. I have a 1980 J.D. 180 with a single cylinder kawi that still runs like new. Cant wait to see how my new twin cylinder is going to last

X304 won't work for me as I need a 38" deck to get through gates, thinking hard about X320 for better tranny. Enjoy your new tractor! Good luck and have a nice day.

Ordered X320 W/38" deck and Snow Blower

I have an X320 with a 48" deck and was surprised to find out that it would not
fit between the wheel wells of my full size GMC pickup. They are a nice little tractor.
Good luck with yours

Both are good machines... You would do well either way -

I have 2 horse pastures that are just over an acre and the yard next to the house that I maintain with a X300.

We have wet summers here as the ocean is less than 5 miles away as the crow flies and there are 7,000+ ft mountains within 50 miles out the back porch. That moisture laden air rises and hits the front wall of the mountains and.... Well, you get the picture.

The direct shot to the rear bag collector on the X300 is a better mowing system for wetter conditions - IMO - than the power-flow side collection system on the X320.

That's why I went with the 300. I would have paid more for the 320 but they don't offer it with the rear-bagger option.

Best of luck with your new tractor.

Well I took delivery of my X320, did a leaf cleanup and then installed Snow Blower. Well snow arrives and machine gets a workout. When I finished the snow cleanup that went very well. The next day after blower lifting the old arthritis kicked in and I was in torture. So under the JD Promise I sent it back two days short of the 30 days and now in my garage sits a JD X360 no more arthritis form lifting blower with leg. And I have not even seen the machine as I'm in hospital the past two weeks (bad back) so I better get out of here and take it for a test drive, and wait for more snow! :D
