Anybody know why the standard Kioti single remote kit for a backhoe won't stay in either position, it works the valves but pops right back to middle, no detent whatsoever. That is, the backhoe works when the remote lever is held in position, but it doesn't stay in position.

No sticks/leaves etc in the area.

Mike

Edit: Well it needed a stick for a while, maybe that was the problem!~ It is working a lot better now, has a firm detent in A and less firm in B. I don't know what semi fixed it, perhaps warming up for an hour or so was the key, as someone said in the forum search i did, or perhaps adding more fluid? Or keeping it in position with a stick for a while? I don't know.

Any similar experiences?

Mine used to stay put but doesn't now. I like it that way because I use it for my grapple. I just use a bungee cord to keep it engaged when using the BH,

Mine has always stayed detented in either position. It has always been a
little too hard to push it back to center.

Frank, are both detents the same in your valve, in terms of how easy they
come out of detent?

Who is going to be the first to take his apart and take pix?

Yes I had the same problem earlier this year on my DK45. I tried to adjust the detent set screw and it fell to the ground. It had been broken and I think the heavy paint was keeping it together. I pulled the valve so I could work with it on the bench. What i found was rust and corrosion. The steel balls that lock the detent were frozen with in the detent ball and spring set. I word to the wise work over and in side a cardboard box this will help when the spring and balls come free and fly off :( I got lucky and found the one steel ball that shot off after working things with WD-40. Cleaned it,Greased it, install a square head metric set reinstalled and all has been good. 1 tip to share when reassembling remove the set screw from the cover and insert a Phillips screw driver then pushing the detent adjustment ball and spring down, grease the other steel balls that lock the detent. Put the balls in their place and then slide the cover down over the balls and then screw the cover down. Remove the screw driver and install the adjustment set screw. I'm a little more experienced with Hydraulics now:)

That is the same problem we have seen.
There is rust making the balls stick once you pull it apart clean it and grease the crap out of it put it back together and your golden.
It can be a little bit of a pain to do this so if you don't have patience do even try it.
You do need to take the valve off.

I have been having a problem with the float on my CK30 Hst FEL..
( See Thread CK 25 Loader Control and New Cenimatic kit.Page 2 ) I was wondering if you knew weather a person can take that Valve Plunger Cap off and put new BALLS in the cap ? As I have said mine do not have any in it. And here in Canada they want $220.00 just for that cap ! I can't see it being worth that kind of money . I was even looking around for a used one but no luck so far. Would appreciate any suggestions you have.

If this is your loader joystick which I assume it is when you are saying cenimatic kit.
The little white balls have been replaced.
The new kit is Part# 26001-0090 this kit is a lot cheaper than the first kit it retails for under $35.00 us dollars.
Take this part number to your local dealer and see what they say.
If you can get satisfaction there I will see what it costs to ship Canada.;)

I have the same problem. Only difference - my float quit working and I discovered the balls were very corroded in that cap. I greased everything and the float still will not hold because the balls are worn down due to no lubrication. I have accepted that the float is gone. The detent that the balls fall into may be worn also. I can feel a slight "grab" where the float position use to be but it won't hold no matter how much grease there is. Good luck............

Hodak:
Have you pulled the cap off the bottom ( the Spool Plunger cap)
and take a look and see if the balls are in the cap. they could be all gummed up or rusted and not moving the way they should. Take a look at the pictures I posted.. As the other posts state, there is 3 balls in there, and they need grease to keep them working.
