Coming up on 50 hr service on B2320 HSD with fel. My owners manual lists transmission case capacity as 15 L ( 4.0 U.S. gals. ). 15 L is actually 3.96 gals. which is close enough, but dealer service guy said his manual lists capacity a 4 U.S. qts. Kubota quick reference site lists it at 4 qts. I did find a site stating under a notes section 4 gals. for something they called a variant HSD but no explanation. How can I find out the true capacity before purchasing expensive fluid I don 't need ? Big differnce between 4 qts. and 4 gals.

The B7610 I had before and the B3030 I have now both held almost exactly 12 litres on the transmission change, the B7610 slightly less and the B3030 slightly more. Not all the fluid comes out. If you buy 4 US gallons then you will have some left over to top up if you add an implement that takes some fluid from the tractor like a splitter or a hydraulic top link, the new cylinders will be empty.
I would be shocked if your transmission only held 4 qts:eek:. I think it must be a typo.

I would be shocked also. Even the service guy said that 's hard to believe when he read his specs. I 'm gettin' close to the answer and its lookin' more and more like its 4 gals.

Just got the answer from Kubota customer satisfaction.

Thank you for your email to Kubota. I'm sorry for the confusion but your
B2320HSD Operator's Manual is correct and it will take 4 gallons of
transmission fluid not 4 quarts. You can have your dealer contact our
service team if they have further questions.

But don't just dump the 4 gallons in and expect it to be right. You should be able to put 3 gallons in then start watching the dipstick, when it is up to the full mark run it for a few minutes to fill the filters then check again and top up. Very unlikely you will be able to put in all of the fourth gallon.

Yep, I figured I 'd do it that way. Kinda like changin' engine oil on a road vehicle.
