Original poster says he wanted to eliminate sloppiness in the QA loader. I just wanted all to be clear that he is talking about the arms, not the bucket. I never heard of the arms or the loader itself refered to to as QA. Quick disconnect would be the appropriate term. The new bucket is bigger, heavier, etc, on the new CK30's as well as QA. This could be something I'm interested in so that my son can load more firewood in the bucket............
Your right HODAK. My mistake. It's the loader attachment I am talking about usually called Quick Disconnect. I found that when trying to spread and/or back drag gravel, loom etc. that my loader frame would float over the hard soil and/or dig deep into the soft soil as the control was mostly controlled by the weight of the loader arm and bucket. Now the control comes from the whole tractor and the improvement is phenomenal. I used to own a John Deere 410 backhoe so I know the difference. I'm not saying everyone should modify their loaders. I am a fanatic at perfection, I own the tools and enjoy the challenge.

If the manufacturer designed the front axles to support a certain loader capacity, isn't there potentially excess stress being put on the axles with the new loader capabilities?
There is always potential to mess up something good when changing manufacturers designs. Kioto put a bigger bucket and a QA on their CK27,30,35. They now cannot lift the bucket when full of gravel. Their judgement was not perfect there. The CK25 front axle assembly on the other hand is well built when comparing other models and makes. I did comparisons with larger tractors with stronger loaders and felt comfortable with what I have done. My risk but I feel comfortable. Also, I will not be loading more anything in my bucket as it can only hold the same amount of whatever I put in it but I can handle it with solidity and more easily grab it from the pile.

Nice job by the way. You've obviously strengthened to suit your needs and have the skills to back it up.

Yes, in this case I wouldn't be too concerned but if someone with a Kubota B series (light weight, optomized for mowing) did the same modification I'd be a bit more concerned. The Kioti front axles all seem overbuilt. My comment was more in general to emphasize that the tractor manufacturers don't necessarily engineer things for more powerful loaders than they offer themselves.

Yeah, I can see that. I should get you together with a friend of mine who builds pilates equipment from scratch.

Very nice looking job, and you have done a great job of explaining the hows and whys you have done it - as well as a good job of responding to comments too.

I wouldn't mind seeing other pictures of your projects, as they certainly inspire many of us to consider trying something new.

Cheers,

Jon

I have to second that...I too like seeing your work. There are a few folks on here that just stand out with Precision and excellence.
