I was not really shopping for a truck but ran across a 06 F 350 (SRW) Lariat 4 WD diesel with 175,000 miles. I will trade my '96 F 250 4 WD (195,000 mi). I use it primarily for hunting, so not an everyday driver. I do tow a gooseneck pulling a 8,000 lb Kubota M 6800 and implements, which probably is close to the limit for my old truck. I tow this 3 or 4 times a year, never more then 75 miles. I can do this deal for $12,500 after trade. Advantages are getting a 10 year newer truck, much nicer interior, etc. My questions are: is this F350 superior to my old 250 for towing this gooseneck (total trailer weight is probably 13,000 loader). What is your opinion of this 06 F 350? It apears to be in excellent condition, is a one owner, drives much better than my old one. My justification would that a 10 year newer truck would be less likely to have issues. I just spent $1800 on a tranny rebuild, but never had any engine work done. My interior is beginning to look pretty rough, as it was not great when I bought it 3 years ago. I fear that with a '96, those minor repairs that cost $500 to $1000 are beginning to happen. This seems like a pretty good deal. On, the new one has 4 doors whereas my old one is the 2 door version with a back seat.
