Well i had a buyer for my tractor, but when i pulled it out of the barn, it didnt want to stop!
everytime i put it in gear it doesnt want to return to neutral and its hard getting out of gear. Does any one know what the cause or better yet what the fix is?
thanks

I posted not long ago about a similar problem with my tc - 29 ,,it was dampness in the clutch..NH wanted $2,200 to fix it ...said they would have to split the tractor. A local tractor shop fixed it for me for $100.00 and told me to keep a rock or block of wood wedged so the clutch pedal stay depressed when it was parked, he said NH were bad about dampness getting clutches stuck..I don't know if that is your problem ..but be careful you don't get taken to get it fixed..

Blake, the pedal mechanism may need to be lubed or it could be that the centering adjustment is out of tolerance. If the pedal is just stiff, then there is a grease zerk to lube it. Also, make sure the roller that rolls on the B-shaped plate is free. In addition, make sure the return spring is in place on the pedal. Work the pedals back and forth with the engine off and see if they will loosen up.

If that does not work, try to center the pedals by pressing reverse or forward as needed. That should allow you to easily shift into and out of gear. Finally, there is a large nut on the pedal mechanism that is attached to an eccentric lobe. If the pedals are returning to neutral, but the center spot is not neutral, then this nut can be adjusted to correct the misadjustment.

EDIT: BTW Brin, the TC45DA, and other class III Boomers that are HST have no clutch. The engine is coupled directly to the HST transmission. For some people, that takes a bit of getting used to.:)

2nd EDIT: Blake, did you keep the rpm up while showing the tractor? Sometimes our tractors don't return to neutral because the engine rpm is so low the HST cannot operate properly.

it doent matter what the rpm is set at, it creeps at the same speed. i will try and look for the nut that you mentioned that is attched to a lobe. also the reverse peddle is back more than the forward peddel.
thank you.

In addition to the illustrations in the thread that Chris linked to, I have a couple of pictures from when I had my operator platform lifted to work on my broken pedal mechanism. The parts are clearly visible in these pictures. You can see that the return spring is located just above the eccentric adjustment. However, before any adjustment, be sure the big "B" shaped plate is returning to center with the roller centered between the lobes. Things look a bit different from the bottom looking up and a good light is surely helpful.

ok, I found the big nut, it has a small bolt in the center, both were not very tight,
I loosened the small bolt and gave the large nut a turn a little at a time until there was no creep. IT didn't take much, not even a quarter turn, both peddels are even . I Will check tomorrow to see if the roller is still in the middle, if it isnt should i adjust the tensioner that has the spring near it.

OK, i found the nut it has a small bolt in the center of it, both were not very tight. I loosened the bolt and turned the nut a little at a time until there wasnt any creeping .I dont think it was even a quarter turn.I tightend the center bolt and no more creeping.I will check the roller tomorrow to see if it is centered. just in case it isnt, can i adjust the spring tenstioner to get the roller centered?. thanks for the help
