For those of you who "wax", do you "wax" you're wheels and loader arms and chassis and all that?

Just finished waxing my body parts, just wanted to know if any of the rest of you go another mile further.

It actually helps keep the machine cleaner/easier to clean. So it makes sense, if you have the time to do it.

If you're too lazy to do it, guess you don't care what the tractor looks like. I do most of this naked. Makes it fun to do. Of course, it'd be ever better if the wife joined in.

I LOVE THIS SITE !

I haven't even waxed my vehicles in the last 25 years. Don't expect to start with the tractor. A hose job works fine for me.

I favor a Brazilian wax. I wish I had to go a mile further and am jealous if you do.

This made my day. Thanks!

On topic: I was too anxious to use my tractor when they delivered it. Now I don't know if I will ever get it "that clean" again. I am really more concerned about corrosion control than wax at this point. Although I suppose wax could inhibit rust too. When/If I do wax I do not think I would wax all the implement angles. After all it is a tractor not a collector sports car. Just my opinion.

In my (limited) experience, most tractor rust is related to scratches through paint and gouges not rusting in places that have a solid if no longer shiny paint job. Best way to keep a tractor and implements from rusting is just to keep it covered and to remove wet debris from nooks and crannies before storage. I don't do it often but a compressed air hose with a blower wand extension works very well to keep it clean of potentially wet debris. I don't worry about dust or dirt.

I'll second that ;) That is basically my process to. I also use FluidFilm on some of the more rust prone areas on the 3pt etc.

I can't believe that I didn't think to wax my tractor before using for the first time! It will most certainly get done in the spring when the weather breaks here. I used to wax a quarter panel or so at lunch everyday on my cars when I could. There's therapy in waxing your car or truck, and I'm sure your tractor! Hey where is Prudence Island? I used to live in Newport (USN) but don't remember PI. It's been a couple decades.......

I have waxed the hoods on all my John Deere's after I got them, and keep a folded sheet on top of the hoods after they cool down after use. The sheets keep the dust off the hood, and the finish looks like new 20-30 years later.

I dont wax anymore.Ido however get out the spray gun once a year and paint the hoe and bucket.Ilike to hit the implements after seasonal use too.

Right smack in the middle of Narragansett Bay 1x8miles long. Can't miss it. The USN used to store ammunition there during WWII. It is the island right off Portsmouth, just north of Jamestown (island). Across the Bay from Quonsett. Half way from Newport to Providence as the crow flies.:)

Right on Mr. Natural. Full body waxing. It do hurt though when ripped off.

Do I wax my tractor? "You betch ah". With the money I have it than sucker I intend to keep it looking good as long as I can. I use Black Magic Lquid Glass" I have been real happy with it. I wax mine twice a year. I wax all the fenders, wheels, and underside where possible.

I wax mine when needed which is usually every couple weeks. I use mine in heavy brush and limbs and the slicker it is the easier the small limbs and twigs slide right off plus i think it runs better when its clean :D

i also wax mine to keep it as new looking as possible so one day if i ever sell or trade her in it will at least look well taken care off. I didnt spend that much money to let it rust and get beat to ****, i use it hard but take good care of it.
