Both are used. Here's all I know so far:

Deere: 4WD 62C mower deck, 300 hrs, Hydro. $7,900

Kubota: 4WD 60" RCK60B Mower deck, 431 hours, Hydro. $6,900

Dealer claims Deere tach was replaced at 289 hours and currently shows 300 hours. Gives me a bit of a bad feeling....

Both are in nice condition. No damage, paint still glossy. Mower decks are real good.

I am willing to pay a little more for Green paint. Currently negotiating deal for my GT235 tractor as a trade in. One thing I thought strange about the Deere was the use of the 3 pt to lift the MMM. Is that anything to be concerned about?

Any solid reasons to buy one over the other?

I can't think of any real advantage one over the other. A friend has a similar JD and I have the Kubota BX...We're both very happy with the machines.

Really comes down to which one you personally like better.

I think it comes down to personal preferences, and ergonomics for the most part. The other things I would look at are what other attachments you might want for it in the future. I think the Kubota front mount attachments (snowblower, and blade, especially) are better matched for the tractor, and I guess I like the quick hitch somewhat better. On the other hand the Kubota material collection system/grass catcher looks cumbersome, more difficult to install, and has a reputation for eating shear pins.

I agree with some others --- it comes down to personal preferences, and ergonomics for the most part. I have had the 2210 and now 2305 I personal fill was using a fel and the HST Just liked the 2 pedals versus the single on the Kubota.

I was very close to buying the Kubota and I went one day tried the JD been there since then and no regrets with dealer or the tractor and eqpt.

Have fun and be safe

Deere has had gauge issues with there tractors so the gauge just might be changed from their normal failures not being a suprise.

I like the single petal for the long run as there are less linkages to deal with. It also is the most common system built for tractor speed and direction control.

These were my finalists when shopping last spring/summer. Didn't have any other colors with local dealer support. Shame. I like both of these tractors, but in the end, I went with orange for about that same difference in price, maybe more. Deere did not have a model that directly competes with the smallest BX except the X series which are quite different really.

Two pedal? Just doesn't matter to me. I'm flexible. What a good predicament to be in.:D

Does the BX2200 have the treadle pedal? Newer versions have two pedals fore and aft whereas the JD two pedals are side-by-side. Had a JD X485 prior to the BX and I prefer the BX pedals - more intuitive, put foot forward to go forward, move it back to go back. I know the treadles were a bit awkward especially if it didn't fit your foot size too well. Kubota should eliminate that in favor of the BX layout. I think they still use it on a few larger models.

Not sure about the 2200, but on my 2350 the 3PH and MMM go up and down together. That is unless I set the MMM height control to "TOP" in which case the MMM stays up.

Many compacts on all brands as well as subcompacts use the three point hith arms to raise and lower the deck.
