What weed is this and how do I get rid of it?

I can't think of anything else that fits the description. And I thought I had every kind of weed in Central Texas on my place. Can you post a pic?

I think they may be called "mush melons" and as I remember they are not good to eat. Don't know any more than this.

If they are pointed pods , they could be milk weed. Open one and see if the seeds have a silky thread attached to the seeds.

If you open one up and the seeds have a sack around each one that is juicy, they still could be passion fruit. They look alot like the ones around here. If they are ,they are pretty good to eat. I mean the juicy part around each seed.

i'm going with passionfruit still. Take it to your local extension office. They will be able to tell you everything you need to know about it.

Definately agree with twarr1, is it buffalo gourd. Have them also.

silver leafed nightshade, 2-4D and good luck. It's relentless.

If it's passionfruit, or maypop, you'll know next may. Beautiful purple flowers. They also have a exagerated fig like leaf. Transplant them on a fence. I kill silverleafnightshade, and I leave maypop alone.
