Ya know the INTERNET is a great thing, but it sure can fuel worry like V10's spitting plugs and how hard the plugs are to remove. Being a bonafied do it your selfer I prepared to do the plugs on my 2004 with 101k miles with great apprehension. I blew the plug wells out, pulled the COP's and and cracked the plugs a quarter turn prepared to spray carb cleaner down on the plugs. Well just for the heck of it I spun one out. No problem and no issues with any of the ten plugs. The last time I had an issue with a plug in an aluminum head was on a Toyota Corolla. My Ford F350 V10 crew cab has been an absolutely positive experience. Let me tell you about the 3/4 ton Chevy F350 that I had before that........forget it.

Ford will still out sell them. GM has lost a lot of pull with the American public after the bail out. GM's global sales is the only thing keeping them alive.

First Look: Ford's All-New 6.7-Liter V-8 Power Stroke Diesel Engine - PickupTrucks.com News

I would take a DMAX over the scorpion anyday. Same exhaust set up as the 4.5 DMAX, but that is it. What a nightmare Ford has created.

I want half that motor with half the power and twice the fuel mileage. That would impress me. I can live with 195 hp and 400 ft lbs of torque. The 160 Cummins in my motor home handled 21,000 lbs just fine but it never got great fuel mileage 9-12 mpg.:cool:

What is your reasoning for this comment? I read the article you posted and yes, Ford maybe treading in unknown technological territory with this design; but only time will tell.

Remember, GM gave us the converted gas to diesel engine nightmare of the 80's.

Look at Fords history. They ruined a perfectly good diesel with their changes to it. Any one with a 6.0 i a Navistar chassis has had minimal problems with them, but we cannot say the same about the ones in the Ford trucks. And why is that? FORD, that is why.

I've been on the phone most of the day helping good techs and other employees from the oldest GMC store in my area get placed at other stores for employment. After all the mis-management from GM, decades of sub-par product, now being known as Government Motors and asking dealers to share in the losses on warranty work and no exciting products coming to market anytime soon, I understand them dropping GMC. The 'hot' domestic dealerships in my area are all Ford dealerships. A quick glance at GM's stock tells a lot. Many workers who worked for GM all their lives now have pretty well lost all their 401K and retirement money they had. They can't retire now and wouldn't be caught dead driving a GM product. I'd say it's moved from General Motors to Government Motors to Gone Motors. I'm unloading my GM vehicles while I can still get something for them. Ford certainly isn't perfect, but what a nightmare GM is!! Like I said, Ford isn't perfect but, in today's situation, I'll take any PowerStroke over a DeadMax any day! No stores, no parts, no techs; no thanks.

Why did they lose their 401k? Who negotiated that deal? And who voted to agree to it?? The pension losses up here were very minimal.

Blame who negotiated that, that is what I would do.

I for one, will continue to support GM, no matter what.

GM will survive, and do well.

I am sorry to hear that. I have had some good service from mine. It is an 03and I think there are/were some injection issues, but I have not experienced anything that would make me not like my truck.
