A sleeve was created in the foundation for the drain lines. A board used for making the sleeve was left in the concrete. I removed the board today. I don't want to encourage termites. Getting this board out was not particularly easy. Since the concrete slab has been poored, I could only get to this board from the outside side of the foundation. I couldn't just pound the board out with a hammer. I used a combination of sawzaw, drill, wood chisel, large screwdriver, hammer, and crowbar to get this bad boy out. I'm sure there was probably an easier way to do it. Because the sawzaw blade was not long enough to cut the entire board, I had to use a drill and wood chisel to finish cutting the board all the way across. The second piece of the board was particularly hard to pry out. I turns out there was a bent over nail in the board that was holding onto the concrete.

Still way better than forgetting to put that wood in there.

Floor trusses for the main floor should be delivered Thursday morning. I'm guessing that the main floor subflooring will be installed next week. We are using Advantak for the subflooring material.

Advantak subflooring is great stuff. If it stays exposed to the elements for more than about 4 weeks, you might need to sand down the edges which will come up just a bit. Can be done with a sander like is used to finish a hardwood floor. This is one of those "Don't ask me how I know this" things.

I'm wondering if we need to put plastic down on the floors. This time of year is the rainy season here.

If you can get the sills down and marked on the side where the truck delivers, you might get them to set the joist's one end on there and then you just pull them up nice and ez.

I'm sure your builder already knows this, but when puttind down wood for the subfloor, and the weather is unsure, then spreading platic over the floor is cheap and effective. You can buy it in sheets that unroll at Home Depot or Lowes that's 25 ft wide and 100 ft long. Just spread it out over the subfloor and staple it down. Then put the wall in place over top of it and just work with it in place. If you get a tear, tape it back together. You don't need it to be air tight, but the better it is, the less water that will get under it.

When the building is sealed in, you can easily cut out the plastic. What's under the sill plates will just stay there forever. This is fairly common, and I'm always coming across it in homes that I'm remodeling.

From what I've read, Advantec is good stuff. I've seen it used on quite a few commercial jobs, but I don't have any experience with it myself. For wood floors, I like 3/4 T&G plywood. I also use construction glue and screws to hold it down. I never nail a sub floor, but that's just me and probably a bit of overkill.
