We MAY see it, but I'll say without a doubt that Deere will NOT be the first with it...Deere isnt an innovator....They never have been.

I think you are dead on there. About 10 or 12 years ago I wanted a CUT with a factory cab and A/C. I had a JD at the time, so I went there to look first. They basically told me that the public would never want a CUT or possibly even a smaller sized utility tractor with a cab and A/C. I promptly sold the JD, I think 4500?, and bought a new Kubota 5030HSTC. Kind of the same happened with my JD Gator. I've probably had 5 or 6 JD Gators but said I wanted one a little stronger, preferably not belt driven and with a factory cab and A/C. You guessed it, I went with a Kubota RTV1100.

I now have a JD5525 since the JD cab was considerably larger than the M series Kubota lineup and the JD had the 'buddy' seat in the cab. With 5 kids, believe it or not, it's a big deal to let one of them ride with dad. I have the PowerReverser transmission which is easy to use, but I have to admit that I'd probably go for a two pedal hydro tractor in roughly the same size. One thing I personally didn't care for on the 5030HSTC was the rocker pedal. Driving it across anything but the smoothest surfaces resulted in a jerky ride from the small bumps making my foot rock the pedal. Some love that setup, I just personally prefer two pedals. If Kubota comes out with a M series tractor with about 100 hp with a cab big enough for two seats and a hydro, you can pretty well bet that I'll go back to Kubota. I hope somebody does.

LOL...we need to send a link to this thread to the Deere product development folks... :D

I think i've already said it...I know you guys want it...and it is a GOOD idea from my point of view...BUT if its such a great idea, and so many people would benefit and want such animal, why doesnt ANY MFG of any color offer such a beast?

IH was the only one to offer such an animal...and look where that stands today...
index.php

If it was such a great idea, you would think it woulda stayed in production and gotten updates along the way...eventually finding it way into at least the current C and U series Farmalls...

Well, I think the market has changed drastically. Major farms are getting larger and there are many smaller farms/ranches. I think I am a good example. We have 60 head of cattle, bale our own hay, and lots of general projects like mowing, etc.

We have seen some real innovation from the Kubota folks in the smaller tractors. I think everybody can agree that JD is a leader in the big iron category. They have not been as good on the small tractors. Once JD decides to do something it is usually done right. 4520 cab and 5525 can are good examples.

One example they are missing the boat is the Gator line. I had a HPX 4X4. I needed more seats. buckets are nice, but I need to haul more than 2 people. I bought a Ranger Crew and it rocks. I ended up selling the HPX and getting another Ranger Crew.

Where are the John Deere product focus groups?

I agree with that 100%...if anything your operation (and the countless others like yours) would need a Hydro more now then ever before...

Once again, I'm in 100% agreement...JD wasnt the first to have small tractors nor a cabbed compact, etc... but I'd argue that the current offerings 2x/3x/4x20's are top of the line. Nobody else offers a cab 1/2 as nice as the 3x/4x20 cabs, etc...
If even a "known top shelf innovator" (aka Kubota) in this size & type of equipment doesnt offer a hydro M series what does that say? I look at it like this...putting a hydro into what is essentially an existing machine it wouldnt be a BIG deal...hydros are "old tech" and they have countless years of experience building this stuff...

I think thats the problem...there isnt one. They utilize the marketing dept....watch the competition, learn what NOT to do, what the common complaints are and then release a superior product....take the cabbed Compacts...Kubota had a factory cab for YEARS before JD did it...but the JD cab is way nicer.
The 7/8/955's were good tractors, but Kubota was really innovating back then. When my dad got his L2900 GST back in the day the green alternative was a 955...not even a fair comparison IMO.
