Ron I have been thinking about the deal and yes I think I would do it. If it was up to my wife and a trade for the bike hands down she would go for it:rolleyes: Not going there though. One thing that you will find out about this forum is if you feel you need to ask a question you will surely get a answer. Dumb one's don't worry I've asked a few myself. Single on the left Clutch, Double on the right Rear Brakes. See thats it and just ask:D. Inside today also I know what you mean about the weather except I would go for the snow when it's raining over here and just 33 Deg.

You can find out a lot about the great little tractor by doing a search for 1510 in the Yanmar forum. You will see my name a bit and others who own these little work horses. You should get a parts book and a owners manual too. You can get those form about any dealer that posts on this forum. I know that I have gotten parts and my manuals electronically from LMTC. Wayne has been super helpful to me.

Since I have been through the hubs on mine and I frequent the forum, feel free to ask any questions and I will try to get back to you in short order. There are also many dealers who graciously answer questions from their experience.

Mus302, the front hubs of the 186 that you link to are VERY different from those on the 1510. The theory is the same, but the implementation is radically different. (I do not know which is better).

I have learned that the field brakes (2 pedals) are also useful when you are moving a heavy implement amd the front tires arent on the ground. I got my tiller off of a burned johnmDeere tractor, slid my pallet forks under it, and tried to pick it up. Instead, the front end went up. So i put it in the lowest gear and used the field brakes to steer onto the gravel where I removed the forks and put on the tiller to haul it home. Anyways, good luck with your nerw tractor. I too have taken apart my front axle, (had to replace a seal). That seal cost me $25! I guess it could have been worse. The yellow implements are probably JBAR, KingKutter, or CountryWide brand. The rake will be grat for snow removal as it will pull the snow and leave the gravel on top for traction. Two FEL handels are typical for a Yanmar. I think it was the left that controls bucket curl and dump and right for boom raise and lower. Could you upload some pictures on here?

Gonna see if I can get a few pics online here. Like I said, I haven't closed the deal yet, but if something doesn't happen soon I might lose it! Pics look orange because they are taken with a phone, but I have seen others and it and loader are very red.

I never noticed that but you are right.

That isn't an original muffler. This thing may be REAL loud.

The original muffler would look similar to the one in the first pic and a replacement to the one in the second pic. That does not have a muffler that I can see. Yes loud. Good call Calif.

The one in the first pic is for sale and I am thinking about getting it now and selling one of the tractors in the spring. They are asking about $4800 but it comes with the tiller and 3 pt linkages and does not have the implements that the one Ron wants. The tractor in the second pic is a VN rebuilt.

Thanks:D I happen to know that because I rebuilt my hubs and I have a 186 service manual--It was no help at all. When I asked questions about the hubs on the forum I did not even get many responses. But I sure do like the tractor.

It is hard to tell from the pics but it looks like the front wheels may be reversed.

Good call on that. I did not notice that but you are right, the front wheels are reversed. That is a no-no in what I have read. Besides it gives the wheels more leverage to jerk out of your hand if one wheel hits the smallest object. It could be a major factor in this situation. I will post a pic of a wheel on the normal way.

If you draw a line down through the hub kingpin then you will hit the ground in the center of the tire. With the tires on normally then when you turn it pivots on the tire. If it were reversed the tire must roll around an arc. It is this movement which is extremely hard on the front end and makes steering more difficult. Reverse the rears for stability, but leave the fronts like normal.
