The lead is there to help with the valves, burning unleaded may burn them out? I used the lead additive some when I had old machines. I also used 2 stroke engine oil mixed at a small amount liked that better.
Pure BS...
tetra ethyl lead was not a valve lube.. it was a spark knock addative.. IE>. it raised the octane.
them fords left the factory with hardened exhaust valve seats.
