Backhoe BH76 Backhoe problem on new 3030- can't swing to the left

Barlow's called early in the AM this morning and said the Kutota tech said they have had "just one" other instance of this....and it is a valve sticking and I should be able to replace it on site. I'm in GA, so taking it to KY isn't an option...especially to a local dealer because I didn't buy it from them....you know the rest of THAT story. I can handle this swap easy enough I think.

All other hydraulic functions work properly and the tractor stays in the heated basement garage. I've let it run for quite a while and it still has the same problem....so I figure it's the valve.

Has anyone here changed one before??? I'm not sure if it's the top or bottom of the valve....I'm waiting to hear back from Barlow's.

Valve should be here next week and sounds easy enough to change. I'll take pictures of the swap and post them here.

It looks like your control valve setup is similar to my backhoe. Replacing the valve is not hard, but it is time consuming. You need to disconnect all the hoses, all the controls, remove the valves from the backhoe, unscrew two nuts on the end of the though bolts, replace the valve unit and put it all back together. It is messy as well, with all the hydraulic fluid dripping out of the hoses. If you can get a dealer to do this, you might be better off.

My dealer is in KY and I'm in GA, so I can't take it to him easily....6 hr drive. My local dealer wouldn't be too happy to see my bring in my tractor that I saved $2500 on, so I guess I'll have to get messy. It always seems like Murphy's Law applies to me...what are the chances I'd buy a brand new tractor and this happen? Just my luck I guess.

Finally got the valve last week, and now that everyone is over this stomach bug...I can commence to changin' the valve. I'll post pics when I'm through...and I hope it fixes everything! For some reason...I have a bad feeling that it won't fix it because of my luck!.... Maybe I'll be wrong

I hope your wrong. I asked about you the other day at Barlows. Told them you had disappeared again at TBN and they said they hadn't heard from you. When you get it fixed, call and tell them and then mention the driver forgot to leave your hats.

I waited and waited on some info. from someone about my valve...and got back in touch with Brady and he said he thought Gary was working on it. After he checked, he said the part was to be shipped from JAPAN to arrive here around the 20th, which is tomorrow, and that was 3 weeks ago. For the life of me, I couldn't understand why they couldn't get it from their "Dealer" network like most automotive dealerships do. Then I asked if it was normal to have to wait on parts for so long... He came up with another solution at my request, and I received said valve last week....but the whole family has had the stomach bug just til yesterday....so I'm planning to change it tomorrow. I'm having to dig up a water line by hand and I'm not happy! I've got a backhoe and I'm digging by hand! All I can say is that this valve better fix it or I'm not going to be happy with my new backhoe that won't work right.

I'll call Gary after I get it swapped and let him and Steve know what's up. Maybe those hats are in the mail by now....I like the olive drab color myself...

OH...and that leaking tire I had?? I had it dismounted and found that the rubber around the bead seat was ripped off in one area. Evidently...when it was mounted, they didn't use soapy water??? and the tool dug in to the rubber. I thought there was a new tire on the way...but I haven't seen it yet either.

Still waiting on my Westendorf top too...the first one that came with the tractor had a hole in it...back in October. At least it's not hot out!

I had been ignoring this thread till now.
Did Barlows offer to send someone to swap the valve the next time they were making a drop off/pick up in your area?

I don't know how they deliver (regular truck driver or tractor knowledgeable driver) but be careful with all the part swapping.
